Say what you will about the result of this fight, but it didn't prove Khan is world class. All it showed was that Khan had pretty good speed against a one-eyed fighter. How can anyone pretend that cut didn't affect the result? And how convenient was it for Khan that the doc stopped it in the fifth round? This really should have been a NC, that's all there is to it.

I agree, this fight didn't prove anything, shouldn't been stopped in the first. Why wait till the fifth to stop it, obvious rediculous.

whatever it is, a loss is a loss. sometimes a loss will end not the way you want it to be.

        bye marco.

if you want to continue fighting after this, you can challenge chris john for another title shot. with don king around, everything will be possible for another title fight even if you reach the age of fifty. get john's belt where jmm and rocky juarez failed in their bid.

the cut wasn't that big in the first, that's why it continued. did it get bigger as the fight went on? - sure. but the people came to see a fight and they weren't about to stop it just yet after 1 or 2 min.

            right on the money.

The supposed quotes from Barrera in this article are actually the translators words not Barreras. The translator makes him sound like a bitter guy when he was simply expressing his legitimate frustration with the way things unfolded

Here's a more accurate translation of what he said:

              What went wrong this evening?

"more or less, we came with a plan but all that changed after the headbutt in the first round. I couldn't see- It's strange that they didn't stop it in that moment because it was a deep cut"

do you think you would have won despite the headclash?

"If I had two eyes, things would have happened differently. From the first round, my eye became bloodied and I lost the ability to see from that side."

Were you shocked at the speed of khan?

"No, we knew about his speed. In fact, he's a hard puncher- we didn't feel it. The problem is that the desperation of not being able to see set in and I threw myself into the fight."

Give me a break! It's not an excuse if it's legit. I watched the fight and that cut was gruesome. The blood was just pouring into his eye the whole time. There's gotta be a rematch because there's no way ol' glass jaw Khan should get credit for that win. Yes he was fast and his defense was good but he didn't hurt Barrera at all. He got caught a few times and you could tell that he could feel Barrera's power. If there was no cut Barrera would have knocked him out no doubt about it! This kid is acting like he went 12 with the living legend and beat him in a battle. NO! He fought a handicapped fighter who still managed to rattle him a little even w/ only one eye. He might have well fought him w/ one arm tied behind his back. Pretty much the same effect as only having one eye in a boxing match. Khan is a joke and the next real fight he takes he's gonna get ko'd again. Again exposed for the media built up flop that he is. Barrera on the other hand looks like he's still got some fights in him. Look forward to seeing them. Would love a Barrera Marques 2. Blah blah blah im done. Spoke my peace!
