Former three division champion Marco Antonio Barrera says that his fight with Amir Khan should have been stopped in the first round. During the action in round one, a clash of heads opened up a huge gash on Barrera's head. Barrera says the cut was no better in the first than it was in the fifth. They are not excuses. Barrera is a warrior, of course he isn't going to quit of his own accord. That doesn't mean he didn't want the fight to be stopped. The cut hindered his vision and affected his performance, so he's right -- it should have been stopped earlier.
