Khan's punches aren't pitty pat - they aren't power punches but they are solid, properly thrown punches. He was moving too much to sit down on his punches, that's why Barrera wasn't really hurt. But Barrera would have walked through them if they were pitty pat, but he couldn't.
Some may over-rate Khan but you seriously under-rate him. He was appallingly trained before he teamed up with Roach, and was never taught the fundamentals. He showed good fundamentals against Barrera. He is still a long way from the finished product, but he has the talent to go all the way provided he isn't pushed too fast. He needs around 5 more fights before going in with the likes of Marquez, IMO.
