    Whats next?

June date apparently. World title fight-probably not, buy surely a near title fighter, or a young past champion. David Diaz, anyone?

Having seen the Manny-DD fight, Khan beats DD by UD.
I'd like to see him fight either David Diaz or Alex Arthur next; then Katsidis; then a rematch with Prescott, then either Funeka or Juan Diaz, and only then Marquez (if he's still champion, or whoever the champion is by then).

In terms of experience, he may not be ready. But, as was evident tonight, he is much larger than Marquez (JMM is the same size as MAB), younger, faster, stronger. He was too much for Marco tonight, way too much. Can he do the same to Marquez? I'm simply asking this from a promoter's standpoint. Intriguing none the less, don't you think?

By that time Marquez would be retired. He's 35 right now, old for a boxer.

Warren says a world title fight by stumps 09 (that means end of the year-cricket slang), with the next fight in June. I make it june, (assuming he wins), then September and then a title clash in Dec.

3 fights-who they are against is wide open.

DD is a good bet for the next one. Nate Campbell?

This happened so many times in boxing.. a part of losing! The way Amir displayed, thee's no way for MAB to win on that match with or without that cut!

Okay I take back what I said, sorry, but he needs more time with Roach to bed in the new skills and boxing fundamentals he's been learning before even thinking about fighting any of the elite, and especially such a wonderful counter-puncher as JMM. But we all seem to agree that David Diaz would be a good next opponent for him.

Suck it up and stop being *****-losers people. It was unfortunate that Barrera got cut, but he was being throughly outclassed by a guy much more confortable at the weight and with better speed. I said before the fight that this doesn't prove a great deal about Khan. It's a solid win, no more, no less. That said, the kid looked very good. His usual blistering offence, a more refined defence and a better fighting philosophy. His chin will no doubt mean he loses fights in future, but it'll be difficult for anyone to outbox Khan and I mean anyone.

We'll see - that's why I said "or whoever is champion by then". Maybe it will be Valero, who knows. But in any case, 5 fights means 15 months, that's all, if Khan keeps fighting at his current rate, and Marquez would still only be 36, younger than Campbell is now, younger than Mosley is now. JMM has aged pretty well so far, he may well still be champ then.

I'm a Khan fan but JMM would decapitate him.

Not Nate, he's already moved up to Jnr Welter. Anyway, Khan isn't ready for Nate's level yet. DD would be perfect. Alex Arthur would be good, too, IMO.
