This was some horrible commentary. I don't know if you caught when they said this fight was "redemption." Redemption for what? Redemption for Barrera beating Naseem?

I mean Khan was fighting in Brittain with a Brittish ref and two out the three judges were also Brittish. So he was gonna win unless MAB knocked him out which could have happened if he could see with his two eyes. I agree with the fact that the commentary was biased but then again the commentators were also Brittish! As for the fight Being stopped in the 5th they just waited till then so they could go to the score cards and give Khan the win. In my honest opinion Khan is not all that untill he comes to the USA and fights a good prospect here.Comment

Don King is the guy you should blame for that. It is common for major fights in Britain to have an international ref and judges. Don could have negotiated that for this fight and didn't. It's a shame even from Khan's point of view that he didn't, because the inevitable accusations of hometown bias harm how his win is viewed outside Britain. You could blame Warren as well, but King is the main culprit, because he should have had Barrera's interests at heart.Comment

Also, King didn't employ a good cut man for the fight. That guy is a complete bastard.

In The News has just come out with the following report:
Khan could face Prescott again
Amir Khan has revealed he would be interested in having a rematch against the only man to beat him – Colombian Breidis Prescott.
The British lightweight star is on a high after a technical knockout win over ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera on Saturday night. His promoter Frank Warren says Khan could have a world title fight by the end of the year, but Khan claimed Prescott is on a list of potential opponents.
"I'm sure Prescott might be on the shortlist because we made a mistake in that fight which we won't make again," Khan told BBC Radio 5 Live. "Against Prescott we made that little mistake and we had to pay for it."
Khan was brutally knockout by Prescott inside a minute of their fight last September. But it seems unlikely that Warren would let Khan back in the ring with Prescott so soon after their last encounter. The Colombian has a brilliant record of 21 fights undefeated with 18 knockouts to his name.
Warren is instead thought to be lining Khan up for a crack at WBO, WBA and IBO world lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez. But Khan's coach Freddie Roach says he wants the Bolton boxer to have to-three more fights before a world title bout.
Warren is such a prick. Prescott is still a serious threat, but nowhere near as much of a threat as Marquez is. And Khan is several fights away from being ready for Marquez, who would destroy him if they fought now. Roach has it about right, saying he needs at least 3 more fights before fighting for the world championship, but will he overrule Warren? I don't see how Warren could make the fight if Roach were to put his foot down and threaten to resign as Khan's trainer.
Warren is even more cynical and even less interested in the long term welfare of his boxers than Don King is, IMO.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-16-2009, 08:24 PM.Comment
