He didnt get cut so we'll never know. I just find it laughable that people think it was all a big conspiracy to make it go to the 5th so he would win and ignoring the fact that Khan was just too much, its not a bad reflection on Barrera he just didnt have enough in the tank to deal with him. For every Khan supporter in the UK theres another one that would love to see him fail, its not some biased conspiracy to make Amir look good and get a name on his resume.

I'll say now that khans win doesnt prove he's a world beater, but it proves he's made of sterner stuff than I thought he was, he rose to the occasion and thats all you can ask of a young prospect in his first real fight since a shocking KO loss (which I found hilarious BTW).

An example from me is, I do kyokushin karate , theres people at my dojo that are ridiculously ahead of me in terms of technical ability and smarts but my youth and speed (I'm 23) usually see's me through simply for the fact that I can be relentless whilst they just cant move as quick as they used to( they would most probably beat me at the same age with the same skills but we're fighting at different times in our life so we can only judge whats happening here and now). Thats the way I see how the fight went. it doesnt take anything away from MAB just Khan has skills and isnt a flop like I thought he was. I'm not saying he'll be destroying everyone now but it makes him a contender because even Barrera at this stage in his career would quickly expose any boxer that didnt have a bit of talent. I think JMM would beat Khan pretty comfortably but it would be a 1 punch KO like I've seen people claim here (and other boards).

The British commentary was fine, just straight commentary on what was happening. The most praise they gave Khan was to say he was fighting the perfect fight, meaning he was following the game plan perfectly, which he was. No hyperbole at all. If the US commentary was hyperbolic, well I guess that's US television for you - they like to hype everything in the US, don't they.

Has Barrera asked for a rematch? I'm sure Khan would give him one if he asked for one, but AFAIK he hasn't.

Any one not seeing that is being unfair, with dubious motive.
Khan was having his way with the old legend, but really, what does this prove, especially with the cut Marco suffered in the very first round. Barrera even hurt Khan with a left hook during the fight. Khan still fought scared against the much smaller, former 122 pounder. Amir won, good for him, but the way the commentators were exaggerating the win was ridiculous.

I can't speak for your commentators (the UK commentators were fine), but what it proves is that he has improved dramatically under Roach, as I predicted he would. The fighter who lost to Prescott would have lost tonight.

It was a good learning fight for him, no more and no less. He's not ready for world class opposition yet, and his next fight should be against someone just outside world class level, like David Diaz or Alex Arthur.

What youre saying is true, maybe it's just that us Americans aren't used to the way the the British commentary is saying what they're saying. It's the context in which they say things, maybe we see it as exaggerated, I don't know.

Khan is nowhere near ready for that yet - you must be a hater if you really want that fight to happen at this stage in his career. Maybe in about five fights time he'll be ready.

Sorry man, but at no point did MAB indicate that this was going to be something other then what it was. He landed, Khan took the punch, and fired back. He was bossing the ring completely.

                    Whats next?

June date apparently. World title fight-probably not, buy surely a near title fighter, or a young past champion. David Diaz, anyone?

Having seen the Manny-DD fight, Khan beats DD by UD.

That would be a damn good fight, maybe in Vegas, and next a Marquez fight?!? Diaz is bigger than Marco and he always comes to fight, would be nice. Good call.
