If you think a prime Genaro beats Mayweather then you are nuts IMO. Hell, I'm not even certain a prime Alexis Arguello would have beaten Mayweather.

Doesn't have an elite fighter on his resume? Come on now. Are you seriously going to say that Castillo and Corrales were not elite when they took on Mayweather? If so then it is hard to think of more than a handful of fighters in the sport's history that have ever beaten a prime, elite guy.

Oscar was still elite when Floyd beat him too IMO. He was definatey not shot in that fight.

Love him or hate him, and the hate is understandable, it is pretty undeniable that this guy was/is a pretty special fighter. He probably could have achieved more above 140 if he was prepared to put in the time and take the risks, but he is still probably the best 130 pounder ever and, IMO, the most technically skilled boxer of the past 20 years. Definately a top 50 ATG.

I also thinks DLH would have won a rematch. The first fight was close and Oscar was obsessed about getting some sweet revenge.

I have agreed with most of your posts on this thread but your off base with this comment, ODLH vs Felix Sturm could of gone either way ? are you kidding me ? that was a clear cut win for Felix Sturm he jabbed ODLH's head off, at worse Felix Sturm won 7-5.

What revenge??? All the **** Mayweather done and said on the press conference wasn't enough for him to fire up. Oscar knew he couldn't beat Floyd that why he made all those demands

I really don't know about this. I think Floyd fought a pretty ordinary fight and still won clearly. I think he would have performed better and countered cleaner in a rematch and won it even wider to be honest. And that is coming from a massive DLH nuthugger.

This is how i rate him.

                  Super Featherweight: ATG
                  Lightweight: Very good
                  Jr Welterweight: Decent
                  Welterweight: Decent
                  Jr Middleweight: Decent

Im a Floyd Mayweather Jr fan and his record between Super Featherweight-Lightweight is impressive. But after he moved up to Jr Welterweight he took less risks, but i still think he does deserve credit for beating ODLH, because many people on this forum and other forums stated.

That if Floyd Mayweather Jr beat ODLH they would give him credit and ETC, and it seems alot of those people have contradicted themselves because hardly anyone, gives him credit for that win now.

Just remember ODLH outweighed Floyd Mayweather Jr by 1 stone, and remember all the hype and ETC. And Floyd Mayweather does deserve credit for beating Ricky Hatton, he was 43-0. A top 10 P4P fighter and Floyd Mayweather KO'ed and easily beat Ricky Hatton.

Yes its not as impressive as beating Ricky Hatton at Jr Welterweight, but whatever he still deserves credit. Overall Floyd Mayweather Jr is one of the best defensive fighters of all time, aswell as one of the smartest and most skilled fighters of all time.

He could of achieved much more after he moved up to Jr Welterweight but he fell short. He is in the top 50 IMO, but i just can't help thinking he could of achieved so much more.

I am pretty much 50/50 on this matchup. I have seen a lot of Arguello's fights, he is one of my favourite guys. I'm just not sure he would have been able to deal with Floyd's defence. Alexis was ultra-precise but didn't cope overly well against great defence and movement.

I dunno. Whenever the topic of greatest ever 130 pounder comes up I am always torn on these two. If they fought prime on prime and someone put a gun to my head I would probably pick Floyd to win it. He was just incredible at 130. He fought some very tough guys and never even looked like being challenged.

Yes he would have Alexis Arguello struggled with good movers.
