Still the rematch was as good as inked, yet Floyd chose to retire (or as the a standard NSB poster would have said: Duck...I

He is without question a HOF... but ATG... he just isn't in the class of fighters like Duran and Sugar Ray.

HOF of course, first ballot. look at who actually gets in.

ATG? Depends on what is an ATG

Robinson, Duran, Charles, Ali type of ATG? Not a chance, nothing wrong about Mayweather, but not a chance.

Leonard, Whitaker type of ATG? Sure

I personally would have Leonard head and shoulders above Mayweather standing almost next to Ali.

I would too, if some rematches actually happened.

They did not, I don't know whose fault it was. What I know is I don't know if Leonard would have beaten Hearns at 154 in a 12 rounds fight. I don't know if Leonard would have beaten Hagler in a rematch (Leonard seemed to know the answer very well though). I don't know what Leonard-Duran 3 would have looked like.

Consider now Ezzard Charles... 3-0 with Moore, 2-2 with Walcott, 4-1 with Bivins, 2-0 with Burley, 2-1 with Loyd Marshall.

He's easily the best fighter of the last 20 years, so I'd say that guarantees him ATG status

Out of the 20 years that he claims Mayweather was the best, he might've watched boxing for 10 of them. Might've.

The last 20 years would be from 1989 so you have: Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker, Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins etc. I think easily would be a bit too eager. Top 5, yes.
