The thing is though, all this talk about his money persona and lack of passion for boxing is all speculation. It may be true, or it may just be a "front", who knows? personalities have always played a major role in sport. Sugar Ray was more money and more flashy than floyd etc. Who cares?
Yes it may be true, but at the end of the day Floyd is an ALL TIME GREAT. His defense is maybe the best of all time, his grace and movement in the ring are unrivalled.
I think a lot of the floyd hatred stems from the fact that he has retired at 30 with a massive ego. Personally all that doesnt bother me, I find him hilarious and entertaining. Boxing lacks characters, and he definitely is one.
Floyd is the best fighter of our generation, we've all seen his skill in the ring, and ultimately we feel robbed, robbed because we all know he could have given us 5-10 more great fights.
I dont think the story has ended yet though, I honestly believe he'll come back even if it's just for a couple more fights. he's only 31 for crying out loud.Comment

Floyd Mayweather doesn't have a single elite fighter on his resume, except two old, shot fighters, Genaro and Oscar. Both would have beaten him in their prime.Comment
