No more boring than Hopkins vs Calzaghe or Hopkins v Tarver,Taylor 1 & 2.

If pea wasn't a southpaw i'd give it to Mayweather, but he IS a southpaw..so I give it to Pea.

And that always let him down as for the Roger Mayweather/Pernell Whitaker fight. Your totally right Pernell Whitaker whipped Roger Mayweather on the inside all night long.

And he may of stopped him in the 1st round but Roger Mayweather was saved by the bell. Pernell Whitaker pulled Roger Mayweather's trunks down and that angered Roger Mayweather, plus Pernell Whitaker got too over confident and left his chin exposed.

Hence why Pernell Whitaker got caught by that counter right hand, and got dropped but i think the punch Pernell Whitaker was hit with. While he was on the canvas hurt him just as much as the knockdown punch. And Roger Mayweather deserved a point deducted for that.

Pernell Whitaker was shaken but he used his defensive skills to avoid Roger Mayweather's punches. And he recovered soon after, if i remember rightly i only gave Roger Mayweather 2 rounds and that was the knockdown round. In the 9th round and the 10th round, other than that i thought Pernell Whitaker clearly won the other rounds without too much trouble.
Here's Roger Mayweather's KO of another underrated champion Samuel Serrano for anyone who doubts his punching power:

Yeah Pea almost knocked Roger out early on i forgot about that.

I agree with you Roger was an underrated Boxer. I mean i thought he did well against Chavez in the second fight, but Chavez eventually caught up with him.

Roger was actually a very talented fighter. most people only know about him because of Floyd, but the guy was a Lineal champ at Super Featherweight after beating Samuel Serrano I believe, and had a surprising number of eye catching wins throughout his career. the thing that brings him down is his bad chin...

but even that actually wasnt that big a deal after he moved up to 140lbs, where he had a very impressive streak and was even known as the 'Mexican Assassin' because of his ability to deal with pressure style fighters. (well, until he got beat up by Chavez the second time) not to mention he gave Pazienza a boxing lesson, and Pazienza ended up having a lot of success at 154lbs+ later in his career.

guy was no joke, even a shot version of him lasted the distance against a young and dangerous Kostya Tsyzu, and his right hand was deadly. its pretty surprising that Whitaker beat him so early in his career, if you ask me.

Good post people also should check his fight out with Vinny Pazienza, arguably one of his finest performance's IMO.

2 of my favorite fighters I can't really decide on who'd win. I could see either winning. If I had to bet money...at 147 I'd pick Pernell. 140 I'd pick Floyd.

I would just about favour pea over Mayweather, The fact that he is a southpaw/ defensive genius would be too much for Mayweather to handle.
