We are talking a prime on prime matchup here. As good as Pea was at 147 he was never prime there. Prime Pea was a LW.

I don't care...he wasn't as old as everyone is making him out to be. He may have been at his best at 135 but so was Floyd at 130. All I'm sayin is Whitaker can win on the inside and Floyd on the outside. Yes I've seen Floyd struggle with Zab...then again, Whitaker doesn't have Zab's power...he wasn't a hard puncher but he'd do serious damage if he caught you dashin in.

I remember a thread like this where everyone was counting out Whitaker...now everyone is counting out Floyd

Me too. I don't even like Pea. But I respect the living **** out of him. And I would, at the very least, compare prime to prime.

Pernell whitiker was all flash and no substance. I cant count the number of times Ive seen him bob and weave when there werent even any punches being thrown. lol Ive also seen him jump right into a couple of punches..

Mayweathers defense may not be as exciting as whitakers but it is ten times more effective.

Mayweathers only real weakness as a fighter is his KO power and he even trumps Pernell in that category as well. May has 25 kos in 39 fights to Pernell's 17 KOs in 46 fights.

I wouldn't say Mayweather has the better defense. Whitaker may have gotten dropped 11/12 times or so but he was just having fun. When Whitaker is serious...he'd rarely get hit. I agree, defense and counter punching goes hand in hand and I've also seen ALOT of times where Whitaker would dodge a 6-7 punch combination and not throw back....then again, he was just havin fun. You should watch Whitaker against Santos Cardona, Roger Mayweather, Azumah Nelson, JCC...

I know Cardona isn't a big name...but that right there is one of my favorite Whitaker fights...2nd to Whitaker vs JLR 2 (Note he got badly robbed in the 1st fight, where I felt JLR didn't win a round)

This right here is enough for me to say you've never seen Whitaker fight. No offense. Faster, Stronger? Mayweather was the faster/ stronger guy and that isn't up for debate
