Exactly. Zab scored a KD against Floyd as well, even if it wasn't called one. in the end, both meant nada.

      were all good fights.
Its good to see another boxing fan who can appreciate the sweet science, even his fights with Wilfredo Rivera 2, Diosbelys Hurtado, Jorge Paez, Miguel Santana, Freddie Pendleton, Juan Nazario, ETC.

I enjoyed all those fights and the fights you listed above, i honestly haven't found many Pernell Whitaker fights boring. Especially his Lightweight fights where he fought on the inside, throwing as i said 90+ punches around. Going to the body and head.

And even when he didn't fight on the inside and he fought his defensive kind of fight on the outside, i found it exciting the way he could avoid punches in such an unorthodox manner. I'd never seen anything like it before.

Roger is underrated because of his chin, he managed to achieve quite a lot and certainly had more punching power than Floyd does. It was only Whitaker's 12th fight and he dominated a 2-division champion aside from being knocked down once.

I think Whitaker would beat him clearly myself. Mayweather Snr has already stressed ealier in Floyd's career that he is not comfortable fighting Southpaw's and i think we saw that in his fight with Judah where he he got outboxed for 5 rounds. Corley even managed to buzz him.

Pernell would have Mayweather x2 on his resume if he had fought Floyd too.
whitaker also KO king kong and godzilla in his prime...

cmon mang, this is all mythical stuff

Mayweathers defense may not be as exciting as whitakers but it is ten times more effective.

Mayweathers only real weakness as a fighter is his KO power and he even trumps Pernell in that category as well. May has 25 kos in 39 fights to Pernell's 17 KOs in 46 fights.

            Mayweather wins cleanly
True story, but I wouldn't say Pernell was no substance and I wouldn't say Mayweathers defense is 10 times more effective.

The only ones i didn't find good to watch was DLH,Chavez and to a lesser extent Azumah Nelson. However even in the Nelson fight there were flashes of genious.

Whitaker just paints beautiful pictures when he fights and he has the ball to stand infront of you too. He is quite aggressive when he choose too be.

Floyd vs Whittaker could possibly be a very boring fight based on their styles.

Pernell Whitaker has arguably the greatest defense of all time, certainly the best of the past 25 years. And that he was only 5'6" actually helped him...

I agree Roger Mayweather is underrated people should watch his fight with Vinny Pazienza, his most impressive performance he looked at times. Like Floyd Mayweather Jr he was very talented, but his chin was one of the weakest i've seen from a top level fighter.

And that always let him down as for the Roger Mayweather/Pernell Whitaker fight. Your totally right Pernell Whitaker whipped Roger Mayweather on the inside all night long.

And he may of stopped him in the 1st round but Roger Mayweather was saved by the bell. Pernell Whitaker pulled Roger Mayweather's trunks down and that angered Roger Mayweather, plus Pernell Whitaker got too over confident and left his chin exposed.

Hence why Pernell Whitaker got caught by that counter right hand, and got dropped but i think the punch Pernell Whitaker was hit with. While he was on the canvas hurt him just as much as the knockdown punch. And Roger Mayweather deserved a point deducted for that.

Pernell Whitaker was shaken but he used his defensive skills to avoid Roger Mayweather's punches. And he recovered soon after, if i remember rightly i only gave Roger Mayweather 2 rounds and that was the knockdown round. In the 9th round and the 10th round, other than that i thought Pernell Whitaker clearly won the other rounds without too much trouble.
