It doesn't matter to me, im an unconditional fan... It doesnt matter hes been knocked out twice and got his ass beat in the Joe fight... Im a fan no matter what, and always will be... so theres no point in hiding the truth of what happened... and thats exactly what happened.

What was even more disappointing, was that he had the ability to beat Tarver in 3... even knock him out at some points, but then he backed out after firing off combos cuz he didnt want to be lured into a trap.

Correct on all and I agree. still a fan.

But that one I hated almost the most, the quitting part. But I can see why it happened with the fear of the counterpunch. It was a victory to lose on decision for him.

It's like people being able to run 10 miles but can't handle the pressure of being in the ring.

I think it was a bad style but you are completely ignoring the mental breakdown that can occur after an asskicking like that.
Yeah but this is forum, and i have given you my opinion, im not ignoring anything, my opinion is that Pavlik will realize the problems were stylistic and that he wasnt fighting at his preferred weight, he should also realise that there isnt another bernard hopkins style fighter (that i can think of) at 160, if anything, he might learn something from it, mainly not to rely on the jab to set up attacks all the time and how to get off against fighters with great footwork.

Pavlik looked very naive, shell shocked and lacking any real tactical awareness. I think the weight excuse doesn't really work despite Arum, Kelly and his trainer liking to claim as much. If Hops got down to 166 which he probably could, it would have been the same.

For me Kelly only gets significantly better if he gets mentally stronger, thinks more tactically, and gets a new trainer in. Nard's got one more good win in him.
His trainer didn't give enough respect to Bernard before the fight, nobody did for that matter. I think that played a slight roll in the outcome but Pavliks lack of dimensions sealed his fate. Even if it would of been Emanual Steward who was training him the outcome would of been the same. Steward was just as shocked as Leow and he respected Hopkins current skill level.

I like him, he seems like a good guy, so i hope you are right.

I just have seen it so often that a guy breaks down after that. Luckily I don't think 160 is very stacked so maybe you are right and he can build himself back up slowly.

This Arthur Abraham guy, that should be a nice fight for pavlik, he gets to fight an overrated, wide punching mark, with cack footwork, for a belt.

Of course, i doubt abraham would really want it.

Correct, he did come over here and face Jones who is and will always be the bigger star. The problem is that Joe should had done it when the fight was more dangerous. He admitted that Jones was washed up a few years back and saw the chance to enhance his name when Roy got back to a respectable level, so he fought him. You also have to allow Jones' perspective having been blatantly robbed of the GOLD medal in his last fight in another country and also that the US is considered the boxing capital of the world. Roy didn't need to go fight Calzaghe in a lower weight (a division that he had already conquered), that is the lower weight/less recognized guys responsibility to chase him. (no pun intended)

Wassup Reed? Good yakin' at ya again.
