You know what, i think Pavlik will be okay, style wise that was a bad fight for pavlik and i only thought pavlik would win because of hopkins's stamina issues at the time.

However somehow (i dont know how) Hopkins was able to Muster the stamina up to execute his gameplan for 12 rounds.

Pavlik likes to establish the jab then following it up with the right lead, Newsflash to boxers, if you like to set up with a jab, dont fight Bernard Hopkins, he will parry it, counter, clinch, work inside and outhustle, and pavlik learned that the hard way.

Hopefully he fights Arthur Abraham, cos he is seriously overrated and needs knocking out.

The crazy thing Hopkins told everyone on the 24/7 series exactly what was going to happen. Richardson is a great trainer.
I agree. That's exactly the problem.

The first time I got the **** beaten out of me for about 12 rounds in sparring, the first time ever, it really really got to me. Took a while to get over it.

It was then that I understood what breaks a fighter mentally and how damaging boxing can be mentally to your confidence.

Again Hopkins trains hard. Even if he's old if a guy is not fighting back it doesn't take much stamina to kick his ass as long as you want if you are a hard training strict athlete. His age only becomes a factor when he's forced to fight.

It's like people being able to run 10 miles but can't handle the pressure of being in the ring.

I think it was a bad style but you are completely ignoring the mental breakdown that can occur after an asskicking like that.

I was actually going to write it but I figured I'd insulted Roy more than enough for your tastes already. Good call. Exactly correct.

Hopkins is a very intelligent tactical fighter that knew exactly the right game plan. When he was speaking afterwards about old fights he'd seen realising he needed to move to Pavliks right side; so he'd have to spend too much time pulling back or swinging, it was impressive.

Pavlik looked very naive, shell shocked and lacking any real tactical awareness. I think the weight excuse doesn't really work despite Arum, Kelly and his trainer liking to claim as much. If Hops got down to 166 which he probably could, it would have been the same.

For me Kelly only gets significantly better if he gets mentally stronger, thinks more tactically, and gets a new trainer in. Nard's got one more good win in him.

Didn't know that it was a bronx streetball game. LOL.

I don't have high hopes for either but especially cotto. That looked really bad.

Like I said, he can beat some people but not the elite if he's mentally broken.

I mean there are always exceptions. Some guys can bounce back. More often that not, they don't.

There's always a mental block in there.
