I thought Calzaghe won that fight by 2 or 3 rounds. I'd watch it again but i dont think i could. Hopkins is so boring, i dont think i've ever watched a Hopkins fight more then once. its just potshot and hold all night with him.
Disapointed in Hopkins fans for refusing to admitt their man lost.

As a Hopkins fan I have to say, I think most of us are just pissed off that Calzaghe fights a 43 year old Hopkins at LHW and he still BARELY pulls out a decision. Now you have people holding Calzaghe in higher regard than Hopkins, and most of Hopkins older fans know what a younger BHop would have done to Joe.Comment

Close fight and hard to score just as I predicted when I made a case for Hopkins. I said it was gonna be ugly and hard to score and because it's in America, Hopkins was gonna pull off a split decision victory and stick it to the limeys.
Didn't happen exactly like that but still the same. Most of us Non-Calzaghe fans just can't stand Joe's style of fighting. He looks like a ***** fighting his out of spider webs and it's irritating watching him win rounds with that type of style.
That's why he won't get any credit. But either way, it's a win on the record so who cares.Comment

calzaghes "work" equates to missed punches. "trying to make the fight" is another great code word for throwing a bunch of air punches. hopkins won this fight easy and even he thought it was easy. wouldn't you think you were dominating if your opponent never hit you and you hit him with clean shots every round.Comment

Good point, but that was also Joe's first venture up to LHW and B-Hop had already made his impact there with a wins over Tarver and Wright. Given, Wright was very much blown up, but Tarver was a true LHW. Regardless if he was 18 year old, or witnessed the completion of the Great Pyramid in Giza... Hopkins was considered the world's best LHW when he fought Joe.As a Hopkins fan I have to say, I think most of us are just pissed off that Calzaghe fights a 43 year old Hopkins at LHW and he still BARELY pulls out a decision. I agree with you on some points and not on others. 'Nard fired some good shots but not enough of them. I don't believe for a second that the low blow in round 10 was legit. He tried again in round 11, obviously hoping to get a point taken away from Calzaghe and to buy some time because he was too tired, but the supposed low blow in R10 did not look anywhere near as bad as he made it out to be. Maybe this cost him the fight. The audience clearly didn't like it and I doubt the judges did either.
Also, the use of the head. Rushing in with a single straight right and dashing forward head first was not cool. How the hell is anyone supposed to fight a man who uses his head more than his fists? Anyone would have a problem with that, I don't care who they are. Finally, the holding / clinching was RIDICULOUS. Considering all this, and Bernard running around, I'm not surprised Calzaghe's hands had a hard time hitting their target and most of the time hit nothing but air.
Granted, Calzaghe looked like poop, I never saw him look that bad, but I think he sc****d it and deserved the decision, although how some of the judges had the points so skewed is beyond my comprehension. I had him up by one or two rounds, but probably no more. Including the knock down, that made him 1 or possibly 2 points ahead. The judge who had it 116-111 needs firing ASAP. Chuck Giampa, I think it was.
So overall, in my opinion, Calzaghe took it because he was the aggressor and because of his greater activity, no matter how bad it looked. They should have a rematch. I can fully understand why JC won't want it though, it was one of the ugliest fights I've ever witnessed.
