Jorge Castro gave a prime Roy Jones a good fight and went the distance. Castro's first win over 47 year old Roberto Duran is recognized as a hometown decision which is why there was a rematch.

James Toney beat a washed up, weight-drained and near blind Barkley by a TKO. He never came close to knocking Barkley "out cold" but it was a dominant performance.

Toney was also a super middleweight in his prime while Duran had seen his best days at lightweight and welterweight 10 years prior to the Barkley bout (which is recognized as one of the greatest fights of all times).

I was objective enough to leave out that Tarver actually knocked Roy Jones out and won a decision over him in their two fights after Roy Jones won the first one (and there was a lot of controversy about that win).

I also left out duran getting koed, and losing to kirklan laing, pat lawlor, robbie sims, and the list goes on and on.

duran's legacy is nothing special after the age of 29. won a title here and there but in no way could he dominate outside his prime weight class.

Corrales and Castillo are all time greats? Not by my, or the majority's standards. It's doubtful that they'll even make it to the hall of fame, maybe Castillo.

Tell that to 34 year old Ray Leonard who was shut out and knocked down several times by Terry Norris.

Tell that to 28 year old Thomas Hearns who was knocked out by Iran Barkley.

Tell that to 34 year old Marvin Hagler who retired and never came back.

Tell that to 24 year old Wilfred Benitez who was making money by being a journeyman for up and coming fighters.

Tell that to 35 year old Roy Jones who was knocked out by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson.

I'm sure there are more occasions of 30 year olds declining than 40 year olds being in their prime.

It's nothing special aside from a couple of wins but neither is Roy Jones' or Mayweather's. That was my point.

yes I can. floyd fought castilo the first time with one arm, he had torn his rotator cuff completely and he still gets no credit for winning a close fight injured.

why should I give duran credit for quitting floyd has fought with busted hands and shoulders and never quit eventhough the pain must have been excruciating. how many times have you seen floyd win with a busted hand.
