I wouldn't say he was "green" against Morales. That gets thrown around here to much. He lost. I can't say Morales was in his prime either because I don't think he was. He had gone through some tough fights before that so how much past it, not sure. He at least wasn't at his peak.
Now that I think about it, I wonder if Freddie is thinking about Morales when he thinks about Floyd. Morales, like Floyd, had to start wearing the cushioned gloves for his hands. Morales was past his peak, just like we can argue Floyd is. And, Morales had a real tough time making weight...which is what Freddie wants from Floyd. That's actually the first time I lost mad respect for Freddie: when he wanted/made Morales make weight even though Morales wanted to fight Pac in the next division up so that he could be somewhat healthy.
More than anything, as a fan, I want to see two fighters at their best. If they can't, at least give me two healthy fighters at some degree since past prime fighters are arguably not prime-healthy.
It's also why I can agree with Freddie in having Manny fight a couple of more fights and then gettting out. Get out before your out of your prime. But remember, we have to pay attention to each fight because one fight can take you out of it.
