Just make it safe and skip the charade of the weigh-in since they are not going to show up at 140? are they?

Plus, if it were in the contract that both fighters had to make 140, which I doubt since Freddie said Manny has trouble, it would still be unfair to Floyd at this time in his career.

So, let's play fair. Both are the same size come fight night. No need to weight-drain for a fight. Let them just come hydrated.
Drain Fighters? If Floyd said he can make weight will have no problem making weight then what's the problem?

They'll be heavier in the ring anyway, which seems like dumb logic.

I think 147 is ideal for both fighters, and no one but Freddie would have a problem with it.
Thank You. That's one person that saw the big picture.

If both fighters aren't going to be 140 by fight time, why bother with it?

The only reason Freddie wants it is because Manny is active and is used to draining weight for his fights, while Floyd, at 30+ and being inactive and hadn't had to make weight in about 3 years, maybe 4 by fight date, it will take it's toll on him.

This is why Freddie said Oscar was more worried about making weight than fighting Manny. That's what Freddie wants with Floyd.

Tell me again, how is a fighter fighting at 140 allowed to show up at 149 by fight time? How is that a fight at 140?

A 44 year old Hopkins said he can make weight and fight undefeated KO artist Pavlik at 170 instead of 175.. If Mayweather agrees and he can, what the F U C K are you crying about?

No one knows what Floyd weighs right now, only what he weighed throughout his career and his last fight. Floyd could be one of those guys who lose weight or gain weight, we don't know. But if he has lost muscle mass during his time off, then making below 147 shouldn't be an issue.

People have to realise, Manny has only fought above 135 once, and it was at 147. Floyd has fought MULTIPLE times above 135, he has a serious edge at 147 because he had already gotten accustomed to the weight physically and cardiovascularly.

Just because manny beat oscar at 147 does not mean he should remain up there for a floyd fight. It would be wise to try and get the fight as close to where manny is at his best as possible, otherwise he can't possibly be 100%.

Are you a begginer? It's the choice of a Boxer. DLH almost went close to 160 at fight night against Floyd.. Guzman even weight 27 pounds after the weigh in with Soto.. YOu're ******.. Why you give damn about that? The main point is making weight before the fight and who gives **** on what weight the boxer wants on fight night.

I would understand making them fight at 135 would suck since both would struggle to make it.

Making it at 150 would be pushing it also. Not to mention 154.

I would also understand if Manny looked slower and diminished at 147.

But Manny looked spectacular. No question.

                    Let me explain:

Freddie said Manny weighed 147 for the Diaz fight; that was at 135, yet he wasn't 135 come fight time; he was 147. 147 isn't 140 either, right? 147 is welterweight. So if we didn't have to drain fighters for the weigh-in, where would they be fighting? Manny would be Welter, and so would Floyd. Of course, the likes of Margarito would be up towards Middle.

So making the fight at 147 is simply saying, no need to drain these fighters for the weigh-in since they will try to rehydrate back up to Welter/147 come fight time.

So, Manny isn't moving up. He can have his next fight at 140 again except next time he'll have to make weight/drain himself for the weigh-in...then rehydrate.

I'm saying skip the draining and just keep them hydrated.

I really don't think Floyd will fight at 140. I hope I'm wrong because I would love to see the fight happen without people bithing that he was too big for Pacquiao welterwieght. Floyd hasn't fought at 140 for a while & with the break I can't see this **** happening.
