MMA is dying and dwindling slowly. It has no where near the popularity of boxing. MMA is only even somewhat popular in the U.S. In the rest of the world there are only tiny NICHE markets for it, no country follows MMA. There's a niche market in Japan, same as Brazil for BJJ. In Europe and Asia boxing is king and God and Europe/Asian boxing is growing RAPIDLY on the heels of the popularity of guys like the Klitschkos and Pacman and all that. Worldwide, boxing gross profits are not even on the same level of MMA. MMA is like a corner hot dog stand whereas boxing is a giant corporation in terms of gross revenue.
MMA is slowly dying because their star power has faded now that all their stars are retiring. They are basically losing stars faster than they're making them because all their new comers are not exciting at all and have no skills. When Emelianenko, Couture, Silva, Rampage, Liddell etc retire soon (it will be relatively soon, within the next year for half that list, a little more for the others), MMA will have zero stars left and the paltry few fans they have now will dwindle even further.
Sure MMA ****ED in places like England and people love to use England as an example of MMA's alleged popularity. Wrong. MMA sold out shows in England only when it first visited, i.e. when it first came to the country and had its first couple cards. After that now it's dwindling and no one gives a flying **** about it.
Dana White is a *****, a liar, and a fraud and has been exposed as such in the past.
        Here's how:
        1. When Floyd Mayweather considered going to MMA, Dana White went on every radio show and tv program offering Floyd millions $$ to fight in UFC because he knew that Floyd has zero MMA experience and could likely lose to White's champion Sherk. So White knew this would look great for MMA to have boxing's top star lose in the 'Octagon', proving MMA's "superiority" to boxing.
        2. However when Kermit Cintron who was a champion high school wrestler threatened to go to MMA and woop those UFC bums' asses, Dana White was surprisingly mum. He was scared because he knew Cintron a 2nd rate boxer would expose all those jokey UFC bums and make MMA look terrible.
        3. And lastly as the final nail in his coffin, when Anderson Silva the current MMA king and 'face of ufc' as he is the biggest star in UFC, when he kept challenging Roy Jones to a BOXING match and wanted to fight Jones in the RING, Dana White quickly silenced Silva and threatened to sue him and break his contracts etc etc etc because he was so utterly terrified of the fact that a shot 40 year old Jones will destroy his no skilled UFC bum Anderson Silva.

That shows the sheer hypocrisy and ***** nature of Dana "The *****" White. He silenced and oppressed his own champion Anderson Silva from fighting in the ring because he didn't want UFC to be exposed whereas at the same time he was throwing money at Mayweather to come to the "Octagon".

Also the fact that both guys pointed out how fraud that sport was with 2-1 main card fighters and how they lose all the time ie kimbo slice. Rome had to keep em back and if you have listened to Rome over the years hes a boxing guy. MMA is for people with small attention spans, rednecks, and little boys getting a hard on over blood.

How about the fact that I hate ground game, winging punches, guys laying on top of each other, how its a crap shoot and anyone can win, and poor records? Am I a follower?

MMA is many styles so you can lose on any given day. Boxers master one craft so its easier to dominate at. There will never be like a Mayweather V Hatton matchup in MMA. To many styles which will hold down your beloved sport. People love the great records. Margarito got no respect till he beat an undefeated Miguel Cotto.
Please go home and do some research.

Wanderlai (dont know how to spell his name) Silva - (32-8-1)

But he is right almost all MMA fighters get more than 3 or 4 losses even brock lesnar who has just joined them already has one loss.
Difference being that all these guys lost to guys on top of their game or had styles they couldn't crack.

Take Big Nog. His four losses came from Fedor and Josh Barnett. Two guys who are on the top of their game.

Randy's losses came from Catch As Catch Can Wrestlers and times of mental deress.

Since when do Bar fighters carry gold medals and highest honors.

Am pretty sure White is just trying to get more fans unto his glorified fighting.
Back in the day, carnival wrestling resembled MMA. It wasn't organized till the 80's.

Dana knows better and he knows Boxing will never be replaced because of its rich history in American and world culture.

There will never be movies related to UFC or MMA like Raging Bull, Cinderella Man, Million Dollar Baby. And the ones that come CLOSEST to that are what, The Karate Kid, Bloodsport, Never Back Down, THREE NINJAS?! There wont be documentaries about UFC fighters like there have been on Ali or Marciano or Louis about the impact they've had on society and history.
            Try REDBELT.

            And Smashing Machine.

You guys do know that White doesn't represent all of MMA right?

I hate Gary Shaw, but I'm not saying Boxing sucks.

The difference is that Gary Shaw is one of about 10,000 PROMOTERS that in the big scheme of things is equivalent to about 0.001% of boxing.

Dana White on the other hand is the OWNER OF UFC which represents about 90% of the MMA market so big difference there. One can very easily say that yes Dana White speaks for MOST MMA as he speaks for UFC in its entirety and UFC owns the MMA market (as small as that market is).

90% of the US media, I do admit. But not of all of MMA.
