    I love this.

MMA isn't going to die out. Not as long as you've got hungry grapplers trying to earn a better living, you'll still have MMA.

No way are any of them going to look at pro-wrestling as a meal ticket these days.

When White speaks he is representing the entire MMA world and thousands of fighters in the UFC. When Shaw speaks he represents the 3 or 4 fighters in his stable.

Gary Shaw owned EliteXC and tried to push a streetfighter with a rookie record as the next big thing in MMA to the point that he had fights manipulated. He also pushed an ok female fighter as the face of women's MMA not based on her skill but on her tit size. He also tried to promote her one weightclass too small to the point that she'd constantly miss weight.

Right now, almost a hundred fighters are trying to get out of contracts that are locked into the company thanks to Mr. Shaw. Because his dumbass don't want to let go of them, they're going to go hungry before this year is out.

Yes, Dana White's an *******. But Gary Shaw is a ****ing criminal!!!

UFC is actually closer to going under..they are in massive debt and there fan base is getting smaller than it was. A lot of my friends got sick of nobodies fighting nobodies.

As been said. Its a dying sport in the USA.

Its on a huge rise in Europe. The European market is huge.

Now we either embrace the fact that USA is no longer the mecca(I believe it still is, but is not producing enough fighters) or we keep on talking about how boxing is dying and all that ****.

You know, football (soccer) is the absolute biggest sport in the world. From Korea via Jamaica to Nigeria its the sport of the world. However it doesnt exist in the US, so is it dead too?

I ****ing hate the sports mentality that some North Americans have.

When I was growing up in Ukraine I watched the NBA and NHL, along with everything local...I love sports, all of them........Americans it seems (general trends, I hate stereotyping) only like what is played in the USA.

If you keep thinking like that, then yes, boxing is dead. Go watch UFC, since its very much ALIVE!

                      My theory on UFC.

It was new and exciting. It became popular because of ****e TV. It was/is an era of "reality TV" and UFC cashed in on that, and attracted a ton of fans.

Its its core its a borring sport. Considering the fan base of UFC, what attracted those fans in the first place was the excitment of a new sport. Now that excitment (equivalent of buying a new pair of Jordans) wore off, just like your Jordan 8s aint cris no more, and people are getting borred. The moment they get borred they stop watching and its all over.

The only way that UFC can survive, is if they completly reform the sport and introduce a ton of new rules which will prevent what we find as borring ways of fighting.

UFC never had any nationalistic undertone. Its kind of a united nations, sport of the world, racial harmony type of sport (very progressive and new age, but people still find that borring).

Boxing on the other hand always was an international sport, and the fact that they play the anthem of your country, along with a big flag centre of the ring in a big arena at capacity creates a fan response like no other. THe nationality of a fighter is still a big deal, and the bottom line is that people still LOVE a state vs. state fight. UK VS USA, RUSSIA VS UKRAINE, MEXICO VS PUERTO RICO....

Boxing is a global sport, its a culture within itself. UFC is not.

Boxing will never die....UFC will loose a majority of its fan base because of reasons listed above. It will not die, but it will never be the sport that boxing is. I mean.......they do televise volleyball, meaning someone is watching......same can be said for the future of UFC, unless some changes take place.
