I second this. I despise the sport and it has nothing to do with Dana or the fact that it is competing with boxing. I honestly find it to be one of the most boring sports out there. I would consider watching golf over it.

I knew this would just turn into a, "Dana White is a ****..." thread.

There's obviously a conflict of interest here. Firstly people have to realise that he is an MMA promoter, so he's going to try and spin the figures his way. Just like boxing promotors will spin the figures their way.

Boxing is still the number one fighting sport in the world, no doubt. But MMA is growing and Boxing could learn a bit from the UFC. Most specifically I'm talking about the way the UFC promotes not only their fights, but their fighters and the way they are appealing to the younger generation of fans.

I love both sports so I hate comparing them. I think boxing does have a lot of life left in it but it can't just rest on its reputation and stay the way it is, because people will want change pretty soon. Stronger undercards for big PPV's needs to implemented fast.

Well there isn't the depth in talent that was abundant in years gone by, the fact that Dawson is fighting 40 year olds and is touted as the best in the division should show that.

Boxing promoters and Alphabet titles have hurt boxing but it's not dying in my opinion.

Dana White is a ****ing moron. Boxing isn't going anywhere, it's going to be at the top of the mountain now and always and if you think otherwise, you're an idiot. MMA is a fad that is going to die out in a few years time when their general audience realizes that they're all mostly just a bunch of unprofessional idiot bar fighters.

It won't die out completely, but give it time. Almost all their major names that sold tickets are gone and they won't be getting anyone like them back anytime soon.

keep thinking that way pal. UFC will promote new stars threw the TUF series. TUF was the turning point for the UFC imo.

UFC had a few mainstream fighter names for a while, Ortiz, Liddel, etc. But they are all going away, TUF will bring in new fighters, but since they all have the same personalities (talk in monotone voices, act like a bunch of apes when put in large groups together) they will hardly be stars.

To be fair, the reason there are hardly any undefeated MMA fighters is because of fighting an opponent with a style they don't know how to deal with.
