Chad Dawson is a legit threat
But I doubt Joe would wanna fight him.. Hes young, strong, has pop (regardless of what yall said)

If Joe Beats Dawson, then I can say that Joe deserves respect..
Why, because Dawson is at the begining of his prime..

Although JC fought an old Jones, he showed he still has some in the tank..

I for one, was not offended when Max said that Chad Dawson comment because its the TRUTH..

Chad has beaten legit champs and very good contenders.. which is something Joe still hasn't done in his 46 fights..

-Ademek is a legit champ and Dawson dominated him pretty easy
-Johnson would give anyone hell which is why JOE was conveniantly injured for that fight 2ce..
-Tarver well IMO was nothing special to begin with but he had a good previous fight with woods.. Dawson destroyed this guy.. My gf was watchin the fight with me and was like, why he punching him so hard?! lol

Now I can understand if Joe elects not to fight Dawson because its too much of a risk for him with a little reward.. But real fans know that this is the only fight left to win..
If he wins he gets my full respect

He had title for more than 10 years.
Was supposed to get beat by Lacy and Kessler.. He embarassed them both.
Came to America and beaten Hopkins (who owned mw champion 17 years younger just few months later), and after that has done to Roy Jones what no one has ever done to him.

For what it's worth...I can assure you that Chad himself did not say those quotes...they werent by a publicist...its funny to me when you read statements an challenges on the internet by fighters who are calling out some guy...and 99 percent of the time you are saying to yourself, "There's no way this particular guy said these things, used these words etc" I know Chad... that's not him talking, no way.

Some of the comments on this thread are a joke. Turn the clock back substitute the name Lacey for Dawson and it's deja-vu.

Joe would get no credit at all if he took Dawson apart, the same people bulling him up now would be back after saying he was a nobody...just like Lacey.

BTW, on topic: That's a great gesture for Dawson saying he'd fight Calzaghe in Wales. It'd give Calzaghe the hometown advantage (the crowd in his favor), a win to [try] to silence whatever doubters there still may be (somehow), and it makes for a terrific farewell match. I'm not saying he should absolutely take it, but if he would and the fight would be in Wales, terrific. Even though I'm sold on Calzaghe already. Terrific performance last night.

Dawson does not deserve a shot at Calzaghe. If he beats Hopkins then he could maybe approach Calzaghe about a fight, but I doubt that Dawson wants anything to do with Hopkins.
