The article has a lot of good arguments but to say "guarantee" when referring to boxing is a big no no. One punch can literally be the difference of life and death. In boxing nothing is guaranteed. I was one of those people 5 years ago telling everybody that iverson wasn't as good as everyone thought he was and that once he lost his speed he wouldnt put up 30. I was obviously wrong since he still does put up crazy numbers. Roy jones three losses in this decade came from coming down in weight too quick. Roy jones has always been all muscle and muscle weight is the hardest to lose. Losing as much as he did in that short period of time caused him to lose. He's not in his prime but hes also no average joe. Roy JOnes in Espn:Funny and ridiculous
This writer is just trying to get his name out by putting out such unprofessional headlines

      Roy Probably Won't Win...

Jones is second on my list of all time favorite fighters so to say I'm routing for him is a huge understatement. The writer however makes some very good points. As much as I still admire Jones and catch all of his fights, the Jones we see today is merely a shell of the fighter we saw pre-2003. Jones still has great, though diminished skills but his knockout power seems to have disappeared and he isn't as aggressive as he once was. Even though he's not the same fighter he once was, I still route for him because I like his style, ring persona, and of course the possibility that he'll put on a great performance though I don't think this is going to happen against Calzaghe. As much as I want to see Roy put on a great performance (KO Joe) I'm expecting Joe to knock him out later in the fight. Roy's last fight was pretty exciting but I think he'll be in over his head come November 8th....unfortunately.

I guess come November 8th we will see if this writer's guarantee is full of **** or not. Personally, I would love to see Roy Jones win, he is one of my favorites. I could never root against Roy just like I could not against Mayweather, even if he decides to come back some day way past his prime.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Alderson probably wrote a similar article about Hopkins having no chance against Pavlik...

The observations in the article are sound but some of the reasoning is not.

I've said it on here several times, Roy will win handily. The shock that most of the skeptics will experience is the realization that Roy was holding back in the power department on the comeback trail. The only thing Joe has over Roy is stamina... but even with that, we'll see on Nov. 8th.

I think Jones has a great chance of winning. If he can slow the fight down to where he is most comfortable at, and time Joe's wide looping punches with consistent hard counters, then he could neutralize Joe's work rate and Joe would be in trouble. If the fight is tactical, then Calzaghe is going to get owned and in a bad way. His should be getting on the inside and working, trying to break Roy down. In the 24/7 series he stated that he wants to box with Jones, lets just hope hes lying.
