Yeah how did that work out?

    Have you seen this fight?

Stop just reading boxrec all the time.

FFS, Nielsen was fat, that's why he weighed more.

    Golota 18 over Tyson
Tyson didn't KO him. Watch the fight.
    Buster 11 Over Tyson
Yeah, how did that work out?

    Holmes 10 Over Tyson
A 500 year old man coming off of a 70 year lay off. Seriously though, the point is that Tyson was an ATG puncher, Pavlik is not. Yes?

Also, bear in mind that if Tyson had bulked up above his natural weight (as Pavlik is doing) he may have been less effective due to loss of speed and mobility.

and many others and also add height advantage they had
Holmes was 39, in his prime he weighed 210-215 most of the time. Lewis is a bigger puncher than Tyson IMO just wasn't as aggresive and could also box instead of chasing a KO like Tyson. Alot of them were just fat aswell.

Height often has little effect on power when your in the Heavyweight division and everyone should be able to punch. eg. you have people like Byrd, McCline and Valuev would are big heavyweights but don't punch as hard as there size suggests. None of them are on the level of Hopkins and Pavlik are either. Hopkins is an ATG and a decent puncher at 175, Pavlik is a accumulation KO artist at 160 we won't know what effects his power will have when moving up.

But so far evidence suggest (from what I have seen from Pavlik-Taylor II) that the power doesn't have as much effect as it did at 160.

Exactly, Williams was also fat and he KO'd Tyson.

Both Pavlik and Taylor were 4 lbs bigger than they were in their first fight. I doubt it made any difference.

The power won't matter against Hopkins either, if Pavlik wins he will win it because of his workrate.

Hopkins himself admitted in an interview that Pavlik is more powerful than he is at this point.

but tyson is a natural puncher, pavlik isnt.

valuev doesnt punch hard, hopkins punches reasonably.

i think flawless must be 15 or so, his arguments are ridiculous.
