Glossed over facts. I seem to remember you once calling Eric Harding an elite fighter. Come on now......
Oh and I believe Calzaghe beat a dude called Eubank in his 23rd fight, who frankly is better than Harding, Adamek and Johnson combined.
Kessler fought Eric Lucas who lasted longer against an even Primer Jones than Harding.
Beyer, Andrade, Mundine and Siaca are all on par with Adamek.
Kessler fought Calzaghe as his test. Dawson fought Glen Johnson. In other words, Kessler took his driving test while Dawson still rode around on his bike with stabilisers.
Finally, Dawson will not be recognised as the best LHW till he beats Calzaghe.
Never have i once called Eric Harding an elite fighter. I said that it was a good win for a green inexperienced fighter that was making a huge step up in competition. He also did something that was never done previously, which was to dominate Harding, something that even a prime Jones didn't do.
On your point about Eubank. I made a typo that i corrected even before you posted, i meant what PRIME fighter has Joe beaten. Its easy to look on boxrec and see a name, but don't bother to take a look at the circumstances in which that fighter was in. Everyone knows that Eubank was never the same after Watson and he also didn't beat anyone after Calzaghe, which shows you that he wasn't the same. And as for you saying that Eubank is better than Johnson or Adamek, you are sadly mistaken. Who has Eubank beat that is as accomplished as Tarver? No one.
The thing that seperates Dawson's and Calzaghe's opposition is that Dawson is fighting these top level fighters consistantly, while after Joe beat Eubank, he went on a string of title defenses against lesser competition who had poor records. Dawson's resume is better than Calzaghe's when Joe only had 26 fights.
Oh and here is the press conference about Dawson being recognized as the best when/if he beats Tarver. Tarver said the same thing when he was interviewed. The winner will be recognized by every organization as the best light heavyweight.
Oh and this is Dawson vs Harding. A brilliant performance.

I think you can add Pacquiao to that list since it's fashionable for guys in every division to call him out now. I'm surprised Valuev has started hyping the Russian giant vs the phillipino terror in the Moscow Massacre.1. Joe Calzaghe- Undisputed, undefeated, 21 tilte defenses. Ring Magaazine Super Middle weight champ, Ring Magazine LH champ. doesn't have many fights left in him, But I have him #1 for now.
2. Kelly Pavlik- Undefeated, Undisputed Middleweight Champ. Sky is the limit for him, And if he KO's B-Hop then maybe he could be #1. Only 26 years old is a big positive for him also.
3. Bernard Hopkins- I know alot of people would disagree with me on this one, But the guy is a freak of nature, 43, and still a very good fighter. Gave Calzaghe everything he could handle. Some even thought Hopkins won. Something tells me he won't be #3 come October 18 though. Ring Magazine #2 LH.
4. Mikkel Kessler- Only lost was to Calzaghe in a great fight. He is the future of the SM division, but has to step up th elevel of competition.
5. Arthur Abraham- Undefeated, just KO'd Edison Miranda in an impressive manner, probably Pavlik biggest threat at MW. Great power, solid defense.
6. Chad Dawson- Undefeated LHW contender, probably has the brightest future at LHW. I think he beats Tarver next month no question. Chin is not the best , But has good skills, good workrate.
7. Jermain Taylor- only fighter he lost to was Pavlik. He beat Hopkins twice. People tend to forget about him for some reason. Still a very good fighter. Should beat Jeff Lacy with ease.
8. Antonio Tarver- I know Tarver is rated higher then Dawson, But he has beaten the better competition of the two. Talks better then he fight similar to Hopkins. Has had a good career, But I think this is his last big fight before hanging it up. His last fight with Clinton Woods was a borefest.
9. Lucian Bute- I know he hasn't really beatin anyboby, But I'm putting him at #9 cause he has LOADS of potential. In 5 years he could easily be #1 on my list. He could probably beat some guys on my list already.
10. Carl Froch- His biggest test to date is against Canada's Jean Pascal. has a great sneaky Uppercut that comes from nowhere. Time is against him he is 31, And a win aginst Pascal should catapolt him to a fight with Kessler or maybe a fight with Jermain Taylor.
Next in line... Felix Sturm,Glenn johnson, Anthony Mundine, Dennis Inkin,Comment

Eric Harding was obviously prime though. And Johnson hits his peak at 40.
Eubank poops on Tarver. You been smokin crack or something?
So the winner of Dawson vs Tarver is the best LHW because..........Dawson and Tarver say so.
Riiiiight gotcha.Comment

Wow your list is exactly how I would have it except where is RJJ. I might put Johnson ahead of Froch because he has beaten top fighters.1. Joe Calzaghe- Undisputed, undefeated, 21 tilte defenses. Johnson oviously showed that he could still comptete at the elite level, and showed no signs fadding or wearing down. When a 40 year old fighter tires out a fighter that is 14 years younger than he is and has him on the retreat, then i wouldn't consider him near being washed up. Johnson was on the pound for pound list at one time and we have already been over his wins. It was also Chad's first fight against the upper elite fighters at light heavyweight. The Adamaek win was good, however he didn't have that star quality.Exactly mate. Which is why I called your rant a song and dance.

As for you saying that Eubank poops on Tarver. Well not only would i favor Tarver to beat Eubank( especially the version that fought Calzaghe, hes the naturally bigger fighter) but he also hasn't accomplished nearly the things that Tarver has. Tarver is an Olympic medalist, twice UNDISPUTED light heavyweight champion and has wins over the best recognized names at light heavyweight when the division was hot. Woods, Jones, Johnson, Griffen, Harding ect he beat them all. You really need to revisit Tarver.
Calzaghe has beaten Hopkins for the ring title however he doesn't have any of the major belts. The winner of this fight is the best light heavyweight IMO. They have put in the work and has obviously beat better fighters that Joe has at light heavyweight. Its just nor fair to rate him. Hopkins and Joe have a combinded record of 4 fights at light heavyweight, while Dawson and Tarver has always been light heavyweights and have not only fought but have beateb the best in that division.
Actually that is what you did( reading boxrec), when you came up with a shot Eubank as a win over a prime champion for Calzaghe.Comment

Seriously, if I wanted to read Chad's autobiography i'd buy it. **** me, you're like a spin doctor.Originally posted by slicksouthpaw16Johnson oviously showed that he could still comptete at the elite level, and showed no signs fadding or wearing down. Post-Calzaghe, Eubank went 12 rounds with the cruiserweight champ, couldve won then got stopped on a cut in a rematch. Does that mean he was prime?
The fact that Dawson was being backed up by a 40 year old Johnson - rather than meaning Johnson is prime (clearly not), maybe it means Dawson just isnt that good. BUT OH NO THAT CANT BE TRUE!
Tarver beat the best names when the division was "hot".
Come on, seriously, are you Dawson's PR man? Roy Jones was hot? Clinton Woods is hot?
Get to ****. Tarver is a good fighter but he's no Eubank - former undefeated middleweight champ, super middleweight champ. Im not even gonna mention names cos if Woods and Harding are "hot" then I could just about name anyone on Eubanks record.
The Ring Title is THE major belt. Hopkins beat Tarver, Calzaghe beat Hopkins. To be the man, you gotta beat the man. Its as simple as thatComment
