Dawson's opposition (example, Jesus Ruiz) hasn't been very poor compared to Kessler. His only good win are over Adamek, who's not better than Mundine and Beyer and not as strong as Andrade, and age 40 Johnson, a fight which many thought he lost.I wouldn't rank Abraham or Kessler over Dawson, simply because Chad has fought the better opponents and his only fight where he didn't look all that impressive was against Johnson, a top 3 light heavyweight and also a fight that he WON. Former WBC champion and could be IBO/IBF champ this time next month.
Neither Kessler not Abraham have ducked anybody, while Dawson has been ducking Diaconu, even giving up his WBC title to avoid him!
Abraham has been piling up some decent wins: Miranda twice, Ikeke, etc.Comment

I have puzzled over this too. Dawson is young, talented and has some pretty good wins under his belt. I don't really understand why he receives so little attention. All America seems to be clamouring for someone to beat Calzaghe and the guy they choose is Kelly Pavlik, two divisions below Joe, when Dawson is sitting right there in Joe's new division. Strange. I suppose if Dawson can beat Tarver he instantly joins Calzaghe as 1 of the best 2 fighters at LHW though, so i daresay the calls will start when and if that happens.Well let me help you, Dawson was tested against Eric Harding in only his 22nd professional fight. Beat a very good champion in Adamek who was unbeaten and just stepped up to cruiserweight to stop last year's undisputed cruiserweight champion, Oneil Bell. In his last fight, he was EXTREMELY tested against Johnson( 2004's fighter of the year who beat Woods, Tarver and Jones in the same year). Hes battle tested. He vacated his WBC to fight for Tarver's IBO/IBF, and if he won will attempt to unify with Diaconu. I am not overrating and there is no gurantee that he will even beat Tarver( however i strongly believe that he will) but he is not getting his respect and is not talked about among the other champions at all and i can't see how that is possible.Comment

I watched the fight and it was competitive, but that was mainly it. I had Eubank losing by 4 points in their first fight but that's just my opinion. Did i miss the part where Eubank won or beat a good top level champion after Calzaghe or even Watson? You are completely ignoring ALL of my questions at this point. Again, what indicated that Eubank wasn't shot? I also asked what PRIME fighter did Joe beat when he only had 23 fights. Dawson beat Adamek, who is undefeated and stopped last year's cruiser weight champion O'Neil Bell. As i have already stated, Dawson is also fighter better opponents that Joe has and is taking much more risks. Joe went on a long string of title defenses against opponents that were like 10-1. Just look at the opponents that Chad is fighting with only 26 fights with his name. Eric Harding, Glen Johnson, Adamek, Antonio Tarver ectera. Now you're getting lazy with your arguments.
Eubank was beaten convincingly? Even though he dropped Thompson and lost by a point on two cards. Yeah mate, he lost so convincingly that the public demanded a rematch like they do with all convincing wins. Remember how the public was crying out for Floyd vs Gatti 2?
And yeah, he was beat convincingly in the rematch too. Because being stopped because your eye has swollen shut whilst you're WINNING the fight, is a complete and utter domination by the opponent.
Dawson, Woods( controversially) and Tarver are the only ones that beat Johnson once he hit his true stride. Those earlier losses were fights that he took on short notice and some WERE robberies, but i am not using that as an excuse for anything. One thing i must say is that i have seen his fight with Omar Shieka and it clearly looked like he won and Sheika was awarded with a knockdown that never happened.Johnson is a guy who competes with the elite but rarely does enough to win. He's a gatekeeper, a test fighter that if you aint on your game, he'll punish you. Eubank was an undefeated supremely talented two weight champion. ****ing get a grip comparing him to Glen Johnson and Tarver.
Glen Johnson has lost to some less than stellar names ( wait you're gonna tell me they're all robberies lol) yet he's still an "elite fighter". But Eubank comes back and is competitve against a champion who is 20lbs above his natural weight and he's "shot". Please.....
Its funny that you use Eubank being ''competitive'' as an indication of anything. In case you didn't know, fighters are actually suppose to win fights. What has Eubank done or who has he beaten that was as good as being undisputed light heavyweight champion, beating Jones, Woods and Tarver is the SAME year. Again he was a very good fighter, however not on the elite level.
I also liked the way you dodged my challenge to compare the two resume's.( Eubanks and Tarver's) so we can compare them. Anyone that also believes this and wants to help you out can answer this question as well.
No one can actually watched that fight and say that Johnson won. Don't believe what you hear on these forums and actually watch the fight. Outside of Johnson noticeably rattling Dawson in rounds 3 and 10, Johnson didn't accomplish a WHOLE lot in the fight. Chad was putting all of those other rounds in the bank, and was still fighting back WHILE he was hurt and on the retreat. I score the fight 1 point for Dawson every time that i watch it.Dawson got beat up and pushed around the ring by 40 year old Johnson - in a fight I think he lost. Calzaghe never had that happen to him against Eubank or Byron Mitchell who he KOed straight after being dropped.
What high profile fights that Eubank fight in the USA? Name one. You are just spewing things. How would fighting a few American fighters earlier in your career be any indication? And last but not least, the brilliance of your final paragraph. Eubank was not willing to come over to the States. Riiiight yeah, even though he grew up in The Bronx and had most of his early fights in America. The **** fought in Egypt for ****s sake.
Jones was not SHOT. Id say past his best, but no where near shot. What people tend to forget is the fact that Jones had beaten Tarver in their first fight so clearly he had something left. He fights Tarver a couple of months later, gets blown out and now hes all of a sudden shot? Please, again don't believe what some people tell you about fights. Its good to have your own opinion.Tarver's achievements? Beating Roy Jones (who most considered to be shot) in a rematch. Beating Glen Johnson in a rematch. And beating those elite greats Clinton and Eric Harding.
Theres no arguing with that.Comment
