Vitali will have a hard task on his hands such a long lay of with injuries, I wouldn’t be surprised if he beat Peter but I think Peter should be the favourite.
The Return of Vitali Klitschko!

got a feeling this one might be decent
bit of a coin toss really, but im going with a vitali win by way of TKO in the 10th
i think vitali will be very motivated for this one, and will out hustle peter and then pound constantly with his jab and right and eventually beat the limited peter into submisssionComment

Vitali was not a "plodding heavyweight" - he had amazingly fast hands FOR A MAN HIS SIZE and great reflexes, and used to throw creative combinations. He didn't have one-punch KO power, but he would knock out his opponents with an accumulation of quick accurate shots.I can't believe some people take you seriously when you post that kind of racist innuendo bull****. Who ever said Vitali was still in his prime today? Name one legit source that made this claim. Why are you even comparing him to Ali?? The situations are not even remotely similar. Vitali retired voluntarily. He wasn't robbed of anything. Ali was forced out of boxing as an unbeaten champion and punished by the government. Why are you so racially insecure?. Ali depended on speed and his legs which obviously were not going to be the same. Vitali is a plodding heavyweight who never depended on speed. But overpowering his opponents. Vitali has never had "excellent" hand speed. That is not his game and never has been. Truly pathetic race baiting here that was not necessary in the least bit. You have problems.

You can say one thing as of now: The fight won't go the full distance. I think everyone will agree. What about Sugar Ray Leonard's six year lay off before he fought Camacho?
Oops, that didn't turn out well.
The fact that Peter is crude not always very sharp, although he has shown he can box some against McCline and Toney, bodes well for Vitali.
I feel though, we were somewhat cheated out of a prime Vitali overall.
I guess you could say the same thing about Ali but Ali did make amends.Comment

Tunney, I've seen Vitali fight plenty of times and this is no stereotype. It's a reality. If you had said Wlad was fast I would not have argued with you. Vitali goes straight forward, he's not mobile. That's why I said he was plodding. He is extremely strong, well conditioned and he generally overpowers his opponents. He has a very good chin and he's tough and aggressive. Believe it or not, I like the guy. So there is no bias from me. I personally think he has a very good chance of beating Peter. Peter's style is almost made for Vitali IMO. It just depends on the ring rust factor..Vitali has a strong jab and hard right hand. But speed is not his game in any way. I cant think of one major fight Vitali won because of his speed. His handspeed was evident in ALL his wins - he usually connected with three punches for his opponents one. He was hitting Williams, Sanders, Johnson, etc. so quickly and frequently they weren't able to retaliate. Listen to the comments from Foreman and other HBO commentators about how quick and accurate his punches were.Tunney, I've seen Vitali fight plenty of times and this is no stereotype. It's a reality. Vitali had greater handspeed and more varied offensive skills than Wlad, although he lacked Wlad's one punch KO power. Anyone who's ACTUALLY WATCHED HIS FIGHTS would agree, and likely say he's more exciting to watch than his younger brother.
I don't believe you've ever WATCHED HIS FIGHTS. CHOOSE ANY ONE - look in our videos section. I don't want to argue with you - it's futile. Because you hate him, you'll never change your opinion.
You're saying he's a "plodding European heavyweight" age won't make any difference, so to DISCREDIT him if he wins in his return.

I am a little worried for him taking on Peter on his first fight back. He will have to be rusty. Can he be very rusty and still beat Peter? I am not sure and it seems risky to not have any tuneups.I'm really excited about the return of the great heavyweight, Vitali Klitschko on Oct 11. More than any other fight this fall, I'm looking forward to this one!
Will he still be able to overpower his opponents at age 37, after 4 years of inactivity?
Will he be able to deal effectively with Sam Peter's rabbit punches?
Will he make Peter do the chicken dance, like he did to Danny Williams? Will he become the first fighter to stop Peter, like he was the first to stop Donald, Bean, Hide, Johnson, Mahone, etc.?
This could be the worst decision Vitali ever made or it may be pure genius as Peter does not know what Vitali will be bringing into the ring with him either.
I will go out on a limb and say that if Vitali has anything left, he will beat Peter.Comment
