Sam Peter is no Rocky Marciano.

Louis did beat some decent fighters in his comeback too, like Jimmy Bivins (who was better than Peter, obviously smaller considering the era) but he was never able to regain the form, nor did he really care to.

The only thing he cared about at that point of his life was money.

I doubt Vitali will be nearly as good as he was 4 years ago but he doesn't need to be.

Oops, that didn't turn out well.

The fact that Peter is crude not always very sharp, although he has shown he can box some against McCline and Toney, bodes well for Vitali.

I feel though, we were somewhat cheated out of a prime Vitali overall.
I guess you could say the same thing about Ali but Ali did make amends.

I heard earlier this week that Peter has looked like total **** in training. Of course to most people the story is how much Vitali has left.

Obviously not. But Peter is arguably no.2 in his division as was Rocky. Of course Peter can go on and rule the heavies for the next 10 years You never know.

Louis at that point had a much harder life and career than Klitschko has had. He looked physically like an old fighter.

I havent read any reports on Peter's training. It does sound interesting and not good for Peter. Please post if you can find the report.

                I wouldn't bet on it.

Based on Peter's performances against Maskaev, McCline and Toney (especially the first), he just isn't that good.

                Louis against Marciano

Vitali looked to be in good shape in his training pictures. It still doesn't mean he can't injure himself again though.

He throws some very effective rabbit punches, like the one he KOed Taurus Sykes with.

Vitali has had far more serious injuries, including some nagging ones from his kickboxing days.

He lived a cleaner, healthier lifestyle than Louis though.

Rabbit punches won't work on Vitali:

One benefit that Vitali has, however, is his height, which may make it a little more difficult for Peter to land his wide hooks to the back of Vitali’s head.

I'm surprised that Peter hasn't been disqualified for those yet.
