    The Return of Vitali Klitschko!

I'm really excited about the return of the great heavyweight, Vitali Klitschko on Oct 11. More than any other fight this fall, I'm looking forward to this one!

Will he still be able to overpower his opponents at age 37, after 4 years of inactivity?

Will he be able to deal effectively with Sam Peter's rabbit punches?

Will he make Peter do the chicken dance, like he did to Danny Williams? Will he become the first fighter to stop Peter, like he was the first to stop Donald, Bean, Hide, Johnson, Mahone, etc.?

I saw his interview. He said he was training for the last 4 years. I thought he was injured, yet he managed to train.
If it's the old Vitali coming in there, I don't see how Peter has much of a chance.
Peter is so slow, Vitali could jab him into oblivion and load up on his right hand when he wants.
But 4 years is a long time to be out.

To put it into perspective, Muhammed Ali was out for a shorter period of time, and came back at age 29.

Yeah. No question that if Vitali wins this fight it's a great achievement.

          Go Vitali!

            No doubt,

I'm dissappointed that the Bookies have Vitali a favourite. If he was a betting underdog it would be even better, if he wins.

Tunney's comparison to Ali is legit.

When Ali returned after his 'exile' he fought the no. 3. ranked HW Jerry Quarry. I bet Ali was favoured there as well.

If Vitali prevails it's a far greater achievement than Ali's considering lenght of lay-off and age.

I know, I was just saying it would be even better if the Bookies had Vitali as the underdog, to make the acheivment a little bit greater.

On th age thing, I dunno. These days fighters fight for longer, look at Ray Robinson who retired way past it at around 40 (I think) then look at Hopkins fighting at 43 now, and still competative. Still, will be a great acheivment if he beats Peter.

What about Sugar Ray Leonard's six year lay off before he fought Camacho?
Oops, that didn't turn out well.

The fact that Peter is crude not always very sharp, although he has shown he can box some against McCline and Toney, bodes well for Vitali.

I feel though, we were somewhat cheated out of a prime Vitali overall.
I guess you could say the same thing about Ali but Ali did make amends.

I would compare it to Leonard's comeback against Hagler rather than Ali's 3 year layoff. Leonard had fought once in the past 5 years and was 31 years old.

Peter is no Hagler of course but it would be an achievement for Vitali.

It just tells you though how little people think of Peter when he is an underdog against a 37 year old Vitali who hasn't fought in 4 years...
