    Real classy

apparently schooling Hopkins is landing a few clumsy slaps. Even if Hopkins was being dirty, Calzaghe did **** all to win that fight.

Calzaghe lost to Hopkins btw, thats why he was making excuses after the fight saying "I didn't fight my best" BS he just sucks.
It's ashame the only people who count, the judges, scored the fight for calzaghe. If the opinions of ******s like yourself counted then maybe hopkins would've won. How can you say that calzaghe sucks when your favourite fighter has lost to daniel santos twice??

Who the **** said my favourite fighter was Margerito? Margerito has only lost because he fights solid competition. If he was anything like Calzaghe he'd call Pernel Whitaker out of retirement and say it's a good matchup.

Tell me fool, how did Calzaghe win? What did he do to Hopkins?

          When they fought Calzaghe

          Mikkel Kessler
          Age:28

          P4P Status: Wasn’t in the top 10
Wins before the fight: Librado Andrade and Markus Beyer Neither in the p4p list

          The fight

Calzghe dominated, Kessler had no answer loses in a UD

          Bernard Hopkins
          Age: 43

P4P Status: Was in the top 5
Wins before the fight: Ronald Wright Antonio Tarver Both were in the p4p list.
          The fight

It was an ugly fight. Hopkins knocked down Calzaghe, but loses his stamina. Calzaghe wins in a SD, but some had Hopkins winning.

          - HBO's Harold Lederman scored the bout 116-111 for Calzaghe.
          - Associated Press, Yahoo, and ESPN scored the bout 114-113 for Hopkins.

The reason why they say Kessler was Calzaghe best wins

1 They don’t want to say their fighter’s best win was over a 43 year old man which included a knock down.

2 They don’t want an old yank to be his hardest fight

3 Saying Kessler was harder makes Europeans fighters look better, hence helping Calzaghe resume.

4 They are Hoping Kessler becomes a very good fighter years later hence saying that was Calzaghe best win

5 Hopkins made Calzaghe look like an amateur

Hopkins was Calzaghe best win; there is no need to deny this. Hopkins is the better fighter and his status was higher at the time when they fought and gave Calzaghe a harder fight.
Nothing but facts in this post. British fans are the biggest joke on this forum...

I never said he schooled Hopkins.

Calzaghe did more than Hopkins, simple as that. Landed more, came forward and made the fight. Hopkins fouled his way through about 9 rounds and landed a handful of good right hands.

And you think thats enough to win the fight?

Kessler gave him some serious problems early before Joe managed to adjust and take over.

I had Joe winning the fight against Bernard. Even though Bhop made Joe look very bad he is just too old now and did not throw enough to win enough rounds I don't think.

Basically, I thought Kessler presented the most significant competitive challenge given the status of their careers at the time they fought Calzaghe.
You are 100 percent correct. It's ridiculous to say a win over a young, hungry, dangerous, prime world champion, is less impressive than a win over a 43 year old fighter who has been past his prime for years now. People seem to forget that Hopkins recent wins came over old fighters. His last young opponent was Jermaine Taylor and he lost twice(no,Hopkins didn't win those fights). People are going to really see his age against Pavlik. P4P rankings don't mean **** because some of the people making them are as uninformed and misinformed as the people claiming that Hopkins was a better win. I can't believe the bull**** I read on here sometimes.

if it wasn't for calzaghe coming forward, there wouldn't have been a fight. Hopkins would've been quite happy to throw no punches at all and pick up his pay packet. He is a disgrace to the sport. I don't know how someone who throws hardly any punches, hugs like a ***** and constantly uses his head has so many fans.

People focus too much on what Calzaghe didnt do in the fight and forget about Hopkins.

What the **** did Hopkins do? Land a handful of clean right hands in a 12 round fight apparently makes you the victor. Hell i might take up this boxing lark, sounds a piece of piss!
