Calzaghe has had hand injuries all his career which is why it's so amazing he's still even here at close to 37 years old. Calzaghe has given up his power yet he can still compete at the very top of his game by using his other strengths and that's what I call an elite fighter. If you appreciate boxing and how hard the sport is, you would give Calzaghe his dues. He had a wrist injurey at the age of 14 which was supposed to end his career yet he came back a few years later and still dominated.
Kelly Pavlik said that Joe Calzaghe is a fraud

Pavliks redeeming himself from going along with a mandatory with a complete bum, and is fighting someone 2 weight divisions lower, mmmmm, nice. Just outlines how different the two are.Comment

Pavlik doesn't talk like that and it's bad on his character the lame monotomous GodofWar would make it up so. Kid needs checking into a home quick time, OCD only gets worse.

Many on here accuse Joe of ducking "top" competition when he beat every ranked fighter in his division for a decade but never name these "top" fighters. The fighters they are most likely referring to are Jones, Toney and Hopkins, like the fights were makable except for Joe not wanting them. Calzaghe has proved that when giving the opportunity for big fights he makes them.Comment

I totally see why he's fighting Roy whom will challenge him on fronts others can't such as speed and tactics. In an ideal world if he's won, I'd love to see him go on to beat Pavlik if he hasn't lost by that point, and then Dawson. Were not in an ideal world though, and can't always have what we'd like. He's 37 nearly though for christs sake, and has long said he'd like to not keep going on too long.
I'd love to see Pavlik fight Abraham, for Joe to have had the Johnson and Hopkins fights years ago, and Mayweather stop pissing about and ducking Cotto. You don't see my crying and ranting on about it though, such is life...Last edited by Kris Silver; 07-14-2008, 08:41 AM.Comment
