Jeff Lacy had the balls to go over there, while it took Calzaghe his whole career to cross the pond and everyone knows America is boxings homeland. He clearly waited forever for the big paychecks, I wonder why.... hahahaha

Calzaghe can brag about he hasn't just fought at wales his whole entire career, but the fact is America is boxing. He waited for the right opportunity and that was when there was no serious danger to come over here and fight.

Calzaghe just really pisses me the **** off, because I really believed he could beat Pavlik. But then after Pavlik destroted Joe's sparring partner... Joe stop talking about Pavlik completely... It just pisses me off so much when you think a great fighter is infront of your eyes and than it turns out to be one big lie

Calzaghe made it perfectly clear that he loved fighting in Wales but would happily go to America to fight Jones, Hopkins, Tarver etc.

Hopkins blatantly ducked out of a fight with Calzaghe. And Jones was known for being extremely difficult to deal with when he had the negotiating power.

Calzaghe now has the negotiating power and the fight gets signed almost immediately with both guys easily agreeing terms.

He would school Pavlik. Then we'd get to hear how Pavlik was "overrated" or "hyped up" by the very same people who were hyping him up!

Seriously, how much credit is Calzaghe gonna get for beating Pavlik? People still wont rate him any higher than Jones, Hopkins and co. So whats the point? Might as well cash in while you can.

Cos this is his last fight. Hes almost 37 years old and has fought 45 fights, is a two weight linear champion. Pavlik doesnt represent nearly enough to make Joe shelve his retirement plans.

Maybe if Pavlik fights and beats some actual live challengers instead of sparring partners and welterweights, Joe would be tempted.
