If you (or insert ANY pro boxers name here) were trying to unify the middleweight division and the only other belt that didn't belong to you was owned by Trinidad (40-0), would you turn it down?

LOL, **** no, no boxer in their right mind would. So this arguement is weaksauce.

He started his career at light heavy in 1988 right after he got out of jail, needed some work and came back two years later. WOW

I don't know, I'm an ex-con who robbed and did time and plenty of people like me. People change and if you can't see that hopkins turned his life around for the better, then I don't know what to tell ya.
He didn't do more to fight dudes his size and when he did he lost.. nothing great about Hop.

Yeah it's true. I was young and dumb (18 years old, which was older the hopkins was when he committed his crimes (he was 16 or 17 when he was sent to PRISON)). I learned from my mistakes and grew as a person.

He fought everyone during his 10 year reign. He lost to Taylor when he was 40. What more should he have done? He was the first person to unify the middleweight division since Hagler, he was champion for 10+ years and defended the title 20 times. He loses to taylor twice, both very close decisions, comes back at 41 and beats the top dog at light heavy Tarver. At 42 and 43 he is still very competitive and although boring fights, he beats Winky and loses a slit decision to Calzaghe and even knocks him down.

        yeah, nothing great about bhop.

As far as accomplishments, there are only a select few that have accomplishment more out of todays active fighters (mayweather, roy jones, pacquaio maybe).

I know a couple ex-cons too that are good people.. I wouldn't take em up as roll models though.
anyway, for regular people it slides but not for people in the spot light and who are supposed to set examples.

Wow! I would never expected that. Although to be honest i wouldn't assume anyone here had been to prison.

You mean he just had to not lose as much weight for the fight. That Krispy Kreem eating **** walks around at like 190 lbs.
