This may be my moment to concede defeat on this thread. Who do you consider the bigger punchers at SMW? Who are the excellent fighters? The only ones I see are Calzaghe and Kessler.

I know Pavlik and Lacy are two different creatures. I don't know you at all but I know you can't see the difference. I also know you can't talk about the records when Calzaghe has only fought Hopkins who as I stated is over 40 and Kessler who wouldn't in my opinion beat any of the top guys I mentioned. 90% of the boxing community picked Lee to beat Vera, and more than 90% picked Forrest to beat Mora. The boxing community isn't always right. I'm not saying I hate Calzaghe(although I do think he slaps and swings rather than throws punches) I just want him to defend his title against a formidable opponent. Much like fans wanted Floyd to fight the top guys in WW.

Hes dominated his division for over 10 years, moves up to light heavy and beats the best there, what else do you want him to do? hes 36 you know? hes beaten many good former world champs like Eubank, Woodhall, Reid, Mitchell, Brewer. No one wanted to know Calzaghe, Hopkins pulled out after everything was agreed ages ago.

Of course Super Middleweights hit harder than Middleweights, there is Froch, Inkin, Andrade, Bute, Green plenty of good fighters who would give Pavlik trouble.

Jack Loew annoys me a lot with his ****. I think Calzaghe took the Jones fight simply because he could make more money. I doubt he's afraid of Pavlik, but perhaps he sees that as a higer risk fight.

Joe C gets bigger money for a fight wit RJ, and even tho I think Roy will beat him, I understand his choice. I'd still love to see Joe take on Pavlik at 168 tho.

Finally, somebody with some sense. I dont see Roy Jones losing this fight. It means too much to him. I bet he wont go easy on Joe like he has his last 3 oponents. He will push for the KO if he gets Joe in trouble. Trust me, he let Ajamu, Hanshaw and Tito off the hook on purpose.

None of them other than Bute would give give much resistence to Pavlik. They fight head to head too much and would get ****** out of there. Calzaghe and Bute are an exception.

gosh, what happens to fans? always saying things like 'my fighter should fight the weaker guy, itll get him a bigger payday!'. just like the Mayweather fans.

we all know that Pavlik is a harder fight than old Jones. If you dont believe that, shame on you. as boxing fans you should want to see your favorite fighter fight the best competition available, and not be concerned about how much they get paid or whats the biggest risk. Im glad Thompson is going to fight Wlad, even if hes probebly going to lose, because hes fighting the only really good heavyweight in the division.

and wake up, I care about a fighter getting paid right, but if these guys are already getting paid millions, then theyre financially secure(unless theyre idiots). that means that as boxing fans, you should wan to see your fighter fight the best available.

I dont mind the Jones fight because it intrigues me, but the fact that Calzaghe fans are trying to justify the fight by saying that Calzaghe 'deserves' an easy fight for the payday is a disgrace. its a fighters job to go after the hardest fights.
And what some of you need to realise is that a fighter at a higher weight class calling out one in a smaller weight class can more or less be ignored. A fighter from a lower weight class calling out a bigger one is a completely different matter.

LOL good one my friend! I mainly follow the smaller guys Middleweight and lower. I am familiar with Andrade and Green. I just want him to fight anyone of the top guys .

I wouldn't say great. Abraham,Wright(old),Pavlik,Miranda,Taylor, are good. Dawson,Johnson and Tarver are good LW's.
