            Maybe not scared, but cautious.

No matter what people say about Joe Calzaghe not caring about leaving a legacy, he does. Otherwise he'd fight Pavlik as well as Roy Jones Jnr.

His unbeaten record is the most important thing to him and it's a great achievement, but I think he'd leave a bigger legacy if he was to beat Jones and then take on Pavlik and see off another young up-and-comer.

Maybe in the back of his mind he thinks Kelly could end that infamous unbeaten run.

Nope. I was browsing around the back of Calzaghe's mind just this afternoon and I discovered, to my considerable shock, that the only man he is scared of fighting is Anthony Mundine.

              Thats a true story.

we all know that Pavlik is a harder fight than old Jones. If you dont believe that, shame on you. as boxing fans you should want to see your favorite fighter fight the best competition available, and not be concerned about how much they get paid or whats the biggest risk. Im glad Thompson is going to fight Wlad, even if hes probebly going to lose, because hes fighting the only really good heavyweight in the division.

and wake up, I care about a fighter getting paid right, but if these guys are already getting paid millions, then theyre financially secure(unless theyre idiots). that means that as boxing fans, you should wan to see your fighter fight the best available.

I dont mind the Jones fight because it intrigues me, but the fact that Calzaghe fans are trying to justify the fight by saying that Calzaghe 'deserves' an easy fight for the payday is a disgrace. its a fighters job to go after the hardest fights.
And what some of you need to realise is that a fighter at a higher weight class calling out one in a smaller weight class can more or less be ignored. A fighter from a lower weight class calling out a bigger one is a completely different matter.
                GREAT ****ing post.

****ing hilarious how we're supposed to want Joe to end his career with £20m in the bank, rather than £10m.

Apply the same rules to everyone, you nuthugging ****s, and don't just spin it when because it involves your favourite fighter.

If Arum offers him £5m to fight Pavlik after Jones then Calzaghe will take it. No question. His legacy aint worth that much to him.

And why shouldn't he have one last payday? He's earnt relatively little during his career. It's about bloody time he did!

I hope that happens. But can I see it? Not right now with the way Joe is talking.
