why discredit a fight that fans want to see so badly? doesnt make any sense. Cotto's win over Quintana and Mosley outweight William's win over Margarito and if Cotto dominates and HURTS Margarito, it will definitely trump Williams. For many people, a win isnt just a win, its HOW you win.

      But to stay on Topic..
Margarito is not a finesse boxer.. So being able to out box him is not the question.. But, being able to beat him is.. He presents a very Formidable task
That Only a perfect fight will do..
Wether You name is Williams Cotto or Mayweather.. Having this Guy's scalp on your resume is an achivement and it brings some prestiege..

It should not make you P4P unless you already are.. then it will add to your status

      I can respect that post...

But my point was, That i dont even think that the Margarito that's fighting Cotto....is not as Hyped and Highly Regarded as the one that fought Williams..

If you can remember Pre Williams Fight....Margarito became a folk hero around these parts....

Now and days he is just a good welther weight fighter....

So i do not think a Margarito victory should and can be celebrated as the greatest thing that Miguel Cotto as ever done to this point and nor do i think this fight should propel him into greatness.

Particularly being call the best fighter in the sport

        because if anything

What will Margarito be if he beats Cotto...????
A Top 3 or 5 fighter in the world and sport...???

ok this **** i crazy. this question is a spinoff from a post i made earlier. but to answer your question, this margarito is the same one who lost to williams, that being said he is still a top 10 ww. will cottos victory over margarito be more impressive than williams, of course it will because it will add another top 10 welterweight to cottos record(he already has the most) and by basic math will solidify cottos rank as the top welterweight. and please before you guys start sounding off everything floyd has done in the last 10 years remember i said WELTERWEIGHT. hate it or love it cotto has been the best at welterweight beating the most top 10 and fighting everbody.

            Im not new to boxing.

I said that he wasn't hyped. He hyped himself up by using that line. He made it up. Not because of his wins.

He beat undefeated Kermit Cintron ok... Then he faced ******* "who" Gomez then Clottey.

Kermit was coming back off of an impressive win over Mattysee (Sp? who cares) and several other wins just to get the rematch. My point? Why is Tony considered the most feared man in boxing? I don't know.

As for which Tony is going to fight Cotto and under which status.. I think its the same **** IMO.

I have to say the Margarito that P.Williams/Clottey fought was better and more hyped IMO than the version Cotto would be fighting.

We have the "Most feared Man in boxing tag" on him at that time so i have to go with Williams, But if Cotto destroy Margarito in impressive fashion then is "W" would be more significant than Williams.

I disagree Margarito was coming off 2 impressive wins against cintron and Clottey , He was been talked off has the most feared man on the planet going into his fight with Williams.

I dont see the samething here, A cotto win would only be significant if he was more impressive than what Williams did but williams beat a more hyped up Margarito than the one Cotto is fighting.

hype is a fake thing just an appearance just because ur a hyped fighter doesnt mean ur better just look at jeff lacy
a loss actually makes u better(unless u take some brain damage in the process) specially if u can comeback from it like margarito has done
margarito has learned from his lost and he is looking more devastating than ever in his next 2 fights against cintron and golden
and u can make sure he wont make the same mistake of starting slow again
thats why i think fighting margarito this time is more dangerous, it may give u slightly less recognition but its a more tougher fight
