        And I'm not joking here.

If you actually believe that's feasible, you're an idiot.

holyfield was an old school heavyweight. by that i mean, coming from 175 pounds, then cruiserweight he was still a very light heavyweight by today standards, but he proved that size doesnt stop you from standing toe to toe with a giant like Bowe

rocky was also small, and much smaller man than evander. a pressure fighter, a slugger, a puncher. a street fighter with heart. never took no for an answer. threw punches non stop in every round. went 15 rounds only once. undefeated through entire career!

both were probably one of the most conditioned fighters in the history of boxing. We know about rocky's months of training and sacrificing at training camps away from the family. We know evander's work ethic and conditioning kept him succesful while moving up

both had extraordinary will to win, never backed down, never feared anyone, and both had granite chins. this is too good

            who would want it more?
Evander would out box him!!! Louis wouldve stopped him in his prime!!!

As if comparing LaStarza to anyone is an insult? Wow. He was a highly skilled athletic boxer with strong defense and counter punching ability, giving Rocky the closest fight of his career in their first meeting. He was better from a distance than Holyfield, far more mobile, quicker, and tighter defensively. He had a ton of warrior heart himself, taking a beating that saw bones in his arms broken before finally getting knocked out of the ring only to finish the fight on his feet against one of history's hardest punchers. I think LaStarza would have ****ed up Tyson as well, as he wouldn't have patiently ****** the body like Rocky did all night.

"How the hell did evander fade in all 3 bowe fights? in the first bowe fight he showed clearly what a warrior he is, exchanging with bowe for full 12 rounds despite giving out 3 inches in height and 30 pounds. the second fight he won, the third fight he did fade but he also knocked bowe down and he had health problems"'

Holyfield is a warrior and I'm probably the biggest fan of his first performance against Bowe that you will find. He did fade in all three fights though, and some would argue Bowe even stole the second one as he you know... faded in the late rounds.

"in the foreman fight he was very busy and boxed beautifully, you're being very picky with some of the rounds dismissing that holyfield totally dominated that fight with his boxing"

He did, but he was also clearly fatigued and backed off in the last few rounds. This isn't poor stamina but against a guy that throws hundereds of power punches in the 15th round....it may not be enough. You saw that Holyfield barrage in the 7th? Marciano could do that for rounds on end, even past round 12.

"in the cooper fight he only struggled for the first couple of rounds then he dominated. and yes cooper did come in as a late replacement with a totally different style than holyfield was training for in the first place. as soon as holyfield adjusted it became his fight"

Some fans on this board argued it was a bad brawling performance. I disagree and he did in fact dominate save for the knockdown though he was clearly lethargic throughout. I also mentioned Holyfield took the fight late I believe...

"whatever man, you posts show me that you dislike holy and being extremely biased. bottom line evander fought and beat much bigger and stronger fighters than rocky did."

You couldn't be more wrong. Holyfield is easily my favorite fighter ever, I even went out of my way to meet the man in person when he came down here to Louisville. You can take my words with a grain of salt but even in my past posts I went into long foolish arguments on these boards with haters defending him as an intelligent fighter that relied more on heart to win.

"the size difference is not that great, Rocky cut weight and didn’t do much weights were as Holyfield lifted weights, there training techniques were completely different. Also there body shape and structure is completely different . I really don’t see that the size difference will make any impact in this fight. "

              Someone gets it. Bravo!
              HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

you think roland laStarza would have ****ed up a prime mike tyson??? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO

it's not a contest of who's better than who

it's a question who would take it

just because muhammad ali was the greatest doesnt mean other fighters couldnt beat him

holyfield is no choir boy, and with his credentials he stands a perfect chance. he beat men bigger and stronger than anyone rocky has ever beaten

I see that the popular opinion is that Evander is the better technical fighter, as well as the faster and stronger one.

                      But is that accurate?

Based on those slow-motion looking tapes from that period, yes.
But dig deeper and you will quickly find that the fighters of yesteryear were very technical as well, just in a different way.

I doubt we will ever see a fighter with more will to win than Marciano, and based on that, I pick Rocky.
