Marciano vs Holifield

I posted a thread on this very matchup years ago here, but at Cruiserweight, since Marciano was at his best at that weight too.

Thunderlips was wrong, Marciano was smaller than Holyfield --- ALOT smaller.

I personally think this one is a "blood and guts battle royale" !!

I also think while it would be a very long night for both fighters, Holyfield walks away with the Title, after an exhausted Marciano finally can take no more and the fight is stopped.

i also read a couple of other posts by Thunder Lips in the past and he said that the only fighters he would give a chance of beating rocky are Klitschko and Tunney......WTF

so the other fighters would all loose to marciano? That's what i dont like about certain fans. the way they idolize the other fighter because of his status as an all time great.

personally i see guy like klitschko, bowe, lewis, foreman, tyson, and plenty of other heavyweights knocking out marcianio

in truth marciano just wasnt a heavyweight by today's standards. he'll be a magnificent cruiserweight, but challenging the big boys he would fail.

i cant see the picture, and i agreed with you in the first place. Thunder Lips tried to argue me on that, but no way rocky is bigger than evander. NO WAY

Just look at Evander beside a 253 lb old big George, he was as wide as a truck, his neck was 19-20 inches. Evander is much much bigger than Marciano, he would do exactly to Marciano what he did to Tyson only easier.

Ones things for sure, Marciano would never stop Evander, not even close.

well i dont mean to take cheap shots or knock on the guy, but Thunder Lips is saying Marciano is naturally bigger than Rocky. he also says that the only heavyweights that would stand a chance of beating rocky are gene tunney and wlad klitschko. he also says that roland lastarza would have ****ed tyson up, and he doesnt seem to give holyfiled enough credit saying he faded in almost every high profile fight he won.

just read his redicilous statements on those pages

How does Klitschko equal Foreman and Liston? If we're talking Wlad I said Rocky would butcher him when that topic was brought up some time ago. Since you follow my posts so closely you can dig it up if you like. What the hell type of Freudian slip was that buddy?

Marciano was human and there are plent of other fighters I would give a chance of beating him. I would just favor those three because of how they match up.

I'm not sure I'm even going to bother with the "bigger man" thing anymore since everyone has done misquoted that to hell and back and completely overlooked what I originially said and what I was arguing. Duffgun isn't dense and he understood, maybe the rest of you should reread what I wrote and take a hint?

I mean no **** the 215-220 lb Holyfield was "bigger" than Rocky. But when fighting closer to his natural weight at the beginning of his career, Holyfield was only in the 180 range. The shorter, stockier Marciano trained like hell to hover around 190 and below in his first few fights after cutting out all weight lifting in his training. It took Holyfield 13 years to bulk up into 210+ range and had health problems and activity gaps ever since. Outside of his inspired win against Tyson he never looked comfortable carrying all that weight.

But if Kiltschko equals Foreman/Liston I can see where the trouble lies and why you are having trouble understanding what I was saying.
