Pshhhh, not again, YOU'RE WRONG, but that's okay for anyone that's not familiar with the body physics, it's a common misconception.
it's almost equivalent to saying that joe frazier was a bigger man than tyson, it gets me crazy, i dont know where they get that bull**** from.

first of all you judging 2 completely different body styles. Second you're gonna tell me that because rocky was fat, or chubby (which he admitted to) would be bigger in size than the naturally muscular holyfield because he had to cut that weight. Just to be clear evander had to cut weight too for his fights, not coming down from 200 pounds, but he did loose significant weight too.

take for example any bodybuilder. Now im not compraring boxers to bodybuilders but im trying to get my point across. an average bodybuilder at an even 200 pounds will easily and unmistakably will look bigger than average built athletic 220 plus fighter at a heavyweight division. most carry chunks of fat, which after you strip them off, their total muscle weight will point at a much lesser weight. Rocky was conditioned and had a low body fat % but his muscle mass was not bigger than evanders

you talk how evander later on put muscle, and it's true he did. but just because he maintained a weight of 175-190 pounds before moving up doesnt make him a smaller guy. rocky even at 178-180 pounds (his average weight) was very small. holyfield's body structure had much more developed muscle with thicker mass. his conditioning coach at that time was a former bodybuilder, evander did a lot of weight training and exercises that most bodybuilders perform.

at any rate holyfiled at those lower weights was much bigger than marciano, especially at heavyweight. But than again a lot of people seem to view size, and term "big" in diffrent ways. this is the correct way

come on man, at least make your posts reasonable

i picked this match up prime for prime. the holyfield that fought Rid**** Bowe would never get knocked out by toney in a million year.

second, it doesnt change the fact that evander was the bigger man, roids or no roids. And i dont think evander took anything except for excesssive use of supplements

Have some respect, Evander was over a decade past his prime. Atlhough he was still a great fighter and showed great longevity to keep fighting, his peak ended in 1993 shortly after the second Bowe fight when he started to have problems with health. Peak Evander was at crusierweight and when he first made his jump to heavyweight, beating Holmes, Foreman, Dokes ect.

At the time that he fought Toney, he had already been shoe shinned by Chris Byrd and had obvious stamina problems. Think about, do you actually think that James Toney would beat the version of Holyifeld that fought Dokes, Foreman, Bowe or even the Evander that fought Tyson? Please, look at what happened in the first round against Toney would he had energy. It was left hook city. Prime Evander could keep that pace up for the full 12 rounds and would have without a doubt, stopped Toney.

completely agree slick. i already told him that in the other thread. He actually started a thread about it LOL. to think that james toney would knock out a prime version of Evander Holyfiled is borderline ridiculous and beyond idiotic. Holyfield fought some of the most hardest and ferocious punchers that ever lived and his chin was granite.

Holyfield was naturally bigger than Marciano, both height and length. Marciano was 5'10 and 185LBS when he was at the peak of his prime. Peak Evander was 6'2 and weighed 210LBS. Hes was the much bigger man and have dealt with much bigger fighters than Marciano has. Thats what lets me know that hes bigger and stronger.
At any rate, I believe Maricano's workrate would be too much for Holyfield. Especially at heavy, Holyfield had good but sometimes questionable stamina and had to take rounds off, especially against stronger men as he moved up in weight. Holyfield's inside counter punching wouldn't do him much good against Rocky either.
I have never seen a prime Evander fade. Dwight Qawi applied lots of pressure on a green Holyfield at cruiserweight for 15 rounds, yet Evander defeated the former light heavyweight and current cruiserweight champion and out brawled him at times as well. Qawi and Marciano are about the same size. Also, elaborate on how Evanders counter punching wouldn't do well against Marciano? Walcott and Moore both floored Rocky with short counter punches and a short counter right hand is what set up the knockout against Tyson. This video shows that Marciano was vulnerable to a colmplete arsenal of punches.

Exactly, Bowe, Cooper, Foreman, Moorer, Tyson ect are all bigger punchers and better fighters than Toney is at heavyweight.(Pound for pound would be different). Prime Evander would not be bothered by Toney's shots the way he was and he wouldn't be in fear of being countered. He use to take some to get.
