You say that Michael Spinks "didn't belong in the pros," and then have the audacity to call others ignorant......breathtakingly ironic.

Joe Calzaghe is the rightful owner of 2 World championships right now. I think that is quite an accomplishment. How many other fighters on that list have done that in the last 30 years?Last edited by Vasyl’s dad; 05-22-2008, 11:17 PM.

Larry Holmes-worst era ever
George Foreman
Manny Pacquiao-keeps fighting washed up mexicans
Erik Morales-famous for fighting mexicans that hold these weird titles nobody knows like, ifh, wbs and **** like that

if yes which fighters is he better than from this list? this is based on accomplishments/achievements...
Anyway I would say that I'm not sure if I'd have Calzaghe in the top 25, but I would have him above some of the people on your list.
Tszyu: Was beaten by Phillips, who was only slightly above the level of journeyman fighter. Tszyu had some good wins but would've lost to Mayweather or de la Hoya and I don't consider him to be a great.
Trinidad: In terms of achievements he is above Calzaghe, although I think that Calzaghe was/is a better fighter in a p4p sense. I think Trinidad is somewhat overrated and would've had a hard time beating Ike Quartey or Sugar Shane had they met at 147. Regardless though, Tito achieved more than either of them and so I have no problem with people rating him above Calzaghe.
George Foreman: If we're judging people based upon what they've done in the past 30 years then no, Foreman is not above Calzaghe in either abilities, performances or achievements.
Castillo: A good fighter but not a great fighter.
JMM: Very good but has lost to lesser fighters than Calzaghe and did not perform well on more than one occassion when I was expecting him to be impressive (vs Barrera and Chris John).
Cotto: A bit premature, let's wait and see how the rest of his career goes.
Winky: I think that his achievements are overrated and that his losses detract from his overall standing. I would not rate him above Calzaghe. It's wrong if people look at Calzaghe's unbeaten record and use it as evidence of his greatness, but it's also wrong to act as if wins over Shane and past-his-best Trinidad are good enough to completely forget his defeats, even if he some feel that he should've been given certain decisions that went the other way.
