pavlik is a one dimensional fighter. As much as I like kelly for his heart, Calzaghe would expose his style. Most likely give him a boxing lesson. Kessler is actually very similar to Pavlik. Only Kessler is stronger, but they're both equally predictable.

      100% agree.

It truly means Calzaghe is the best by far in his division and around it if his best possible opponent is Kelly Pavlik who is 2 divisions under him.

Jones or pavlik could be good opponents for him. People might think a win over Pavlik means more cuz he's young, unbeaten, and prime, but RJ would do more for his rep even if he is past his best. And honestly I see Roy beatin him before I see Pavlik doin it.

its very difficult to dominate pavlik
if calzaghe frustrates pavlik, pavlik will go all mental and ****, calzaghe will be in trouble
i remember the 2nd fight with taylor, when pavlik got hit by a counter he always got pissed off and forced taylor on the back pedal

If he beats Roy, they'll say Roy was shot.

If he beats Pavlik, they'll say Pavlik was green and a nobody.

Fortunately for Calzaghe fans though, they can't point to someone else and say "That was a better opponent!"

Literally, the light heavyweight champion has the options of:
                  1. The Middleweight champion who is almost like a smaller, more predictable, version of Mikkel Kessler who Calzaghe beat quite handily.
                  2. The shot, former light heavyweight and P4P king, who fights in a completely different style now, that is MADE for Joe Calzaghe's attack. I'm a big Winky Wright fan, and I think Calzaghe would eat his ass alive with his unpredictable attack. Roy isn't even particularly good at trying to fight like Wright.

Calzaghe just buried the last good contender he had by beating Hopkins. At the conclusion of Dawson-Tarver, we will have someone else to talk about being a credible threat to Calzaghe, but right now, there is just no one.

One dimensional? Why because he looks sloppy? Looking sloppy and lanky does not make him one dimensional. Look at how he has beaten different fighters, you will see totally different approaches to his game.

Looks like Pavlik is still underestimated. I wish i was as one dimensional as him.

Throwing a jab and a cross in that order over 500 times in a match with no other variation of punches makes him one dimensional.

Does that guy know how to throw hooks and uppercuts, or does he just refuse to do so?
