Did you honestly have to quote your long post just to make another one?
How does A Cotto victory enhance Floyd's Legacy?

Then why doesn't he just retire, if Cotto is not going to enhance his legacy then who will?Trust me that perception will fade after decades once he is old, retired and his name is locked into ATG history books. And all people will look to judge him by is his record and if there are any great fighters on his record.
Like Leonard with Duran, Hearns and Hagler.
Does Cotto represent that type of opponent for Floyd? Because Floyd will go down as one of the all-time greats either way. His legacy is already locked.
You *****s crack me up if, why are you fans of Mayweather? Do you think he's cute, because it sure looks loke you don't want to see him fight.Comment

To Answer my own question:
It is a legacy enhancing fight in the sense that Floyd would have beaten "the best guys" in five (at worst, four) weight classes.
People have short memories, and the haters always fall back on "who has he beaten at 147?"
130: Chicanito, Corrales, etc
135: Castillo
140: Hatton
147: Cotto (tbd)
154: Delahoya
Yes, I know. The Hatton fight was at 147. But , in reality, it was two 140 guys going at it.
In reality Floyd weighed in at the maximum welterweight limit for the Hatton fight, 147 lbs. But lets pretend it was at Ricky's best weight to make it look better. Just like that clever "tbd" after Cotto's name. Please, you're pissing on us and telling us it is raining.Comment

So you're ****ting all over his Ricky Hatton win??In reality Floyd weighed in at the maximum welterweight limit for the Hatton fight, 147 lbs. All that means is that Ricky had less weight to lost which means he drained himself less then he would for a 140lb fight.
He still defeated the best jr.welter although some of you simpletons will discredit it as it technically was a welterweight fight. Not his fault Ricky ducked him at 140.Comment

Because Cotto doesnt bring no Money...
you see Cotto was just apart of the lowest rated fight ever on HBo...
So if Cotto doesnt bring mONEY....
At least he could be is bring some prestige to add to Floyd Legecy...
But Cotto doesnt even bring that..!!
He doesnt bring Money..
He doesnt bring Legecy..
So what does Cotto Bring....??
The answer to that question is, He brings Hype...!!Last edited by Horus; 04-27-2008, 08:54 PM.Comment
