I don't think that a one-sided win over Cotto will hurt him. He beat Corrales about as easily as could have been imagined and he got props for it. It's only now that so much time has past that people choose to forget that. If he were to do the same to Cotto people would give him credit for it. That would also make three undefeated champions that he'd have beaten badly. A win over Cotto helps Floyd's legacy.Just to change up from all the PPV numbers debate
People say that what Cotto represents is the most legitimate threat Floyd has faced in the last 6 years
On paper that maybe true.
But hypothetically speaking, what if Floyd makes him look like Baldomir or even scores a Tko in a one sided fight as there is a possibility that he might?
Before any of you start attacking me about not wanting my hero Floyd to fight Cotto, I want the fight to happen so all the talk can stop BUT while it's not happening lets get things clear. Usually when Floyd is the favorite to win and when no upsets happen and he wins like he won against Hatton........breakouts of overrated, past his prime come out.
A victory over a Top 10 P4P, 44-0, 2-division champion was criticized. A guy who actually beat a real champion in Tszyu to win his title, not just win vacant belts.
Cotto may have done it more impressive and the perception is that he is a bigger threat but what if he isnt? How is Cotto any better then Hatton on paper? How does a victory over Cotto figure into Mayweather's legacy? He won't go down as the greatest anyway. [B]But for him to get any type of LEGACY ENHANCING credit, the victory would have to be the equivalent of Ali beating Frazier or Leonard beating Hearns. Does Cotto represent all that? If he doesn't, what's the problem with Floyd cashing in and going after the big money rematches (hatton/Dlhoya) and fighting Cotto at a later time? Is it because Cotto fans are affraid that he might lose to someone else and therefore they're in a rush to get him in the ring with Floyd?Comment

You sir, are one ****** ****.You can say anything you want, anyone with common sense can see right through you. It's obvious you want Floyd to take high profile low risk fights so he is protected. When I read your bull**** saying how Cotto has to make a jackass out of himself like a pro wrestler to deserve the fight it makes it obvious what a pitiful mark you are for Floyd.Comment
