You know it! I mean we can only find who the best is if we see the best fighting the best. It's clear that Margarito and Cotto are definately doing that.

It's like he might be worth a 100 bucks at 140 but he's worth only 10 at 147. Just like the 1k 1mil example you just gave, I just reversed it on you a little for fun sake.
How am I in trouble? Did you tell on me? Hehe

Why does elite have to be about weight divisions? I can tell you this, Hatton was considered one of the top fighters in the world, P4P. P4P means regardless of weight. Regardless of how good he was at welterweight, his reputation as a P4P caliber fighter preceded him. His scalp was up for grabs and it goes well on any fighters resume'.

If you don't like the word elite, you shouldn't have tried to say Josh Clottey was elite. Just like Margarito, Clottey has yet to beat an A-list fighter. You follow?

What I'm saying is that until he beats a guy like Cotto, the hype has yet to justified.

Listen, Hatton might have been the second best at 140, that doesn't mean that he cracks the top 10 or top 20 at 147 and 154 respectively. So for smb to grab his scalp at a higher division and to claim that he has fought an "elite" fighter is lying, cheating and deceiving the public that doesn't know **** about weight classes.

Margarito got credit for beating Cintron as though.. He wasn't someone he had already beaten.. beating Cintron didn't tell us anything we didn't already know about Marg.. however, a lot of people are acting like they learned something more about how great Marg is after seeing him repeat himself.

The hype doesn't say that Margarito is the most skilled fighter. The hype says that this guy fight anybody, is one of the toughest fighters out there, throws the most punches, has the strongest chin, and happens to be one of the best in the division. I will cheer for Cotto but that won't bring Margarito status down, on the contrary. Look what happened to Malignaggi, Torres, Quintana, Mosley and even Judah, they are somehow "elite" even after getting torn up.

So Margarito is not top 3 in his division?

"Lucked out?" There is no lucking out over 12 rounds. You work hard and your effort pays off. Baldomir beat Judah because he wanted to win more, not because he was lucky.

As for elite guys, you could say that Hatton, who occupied a spot on Ring Mag's P4P list was elite. You could say Corrales was in a position of very high esteem at the time Mayweather beat him.

Elite fighters are the ones who separate themselves as being superior fighters. You can sometimes find them in P4P lists and that kind of thing.
                  LOL

And for the record, I'd pick Clottey to absolutely beat Baldomir (like he was doing before the DQ) and Judah, fairly easily. He's very underrated. His team made a mistake going after Margarito at that time, bad matchup for him.

And of course Margarito's biggest resume boost is that Floyd "MONEY" Mayweather turned down career high paydays against him, twice. Nuff said!

Margarito, having the obvious mental advantages, should have gotten rid of Cintron sooner IMO. Cintron was petrified at the weigh-in because he knew Margarito was the test he didn't pass in the past and he hadn't gotten any better.

What's funny though is that the media had it as an even fight and Ryan thought that Cintron would win. Then you come in here and diss a fighter cause he's got a few losses when he was 13 and still guys are reluctant to fight him. Common!
