What's BS about it? That Floyd would have a legitimate shot at beating Joe.

Styles make fights and Joe isn't a monster in that ring anyway.

If a out of shape James Toney can be competitive witha natural heavyweight in Peter - a guy who gave the best HW Wlad Klitschko all he could handle 2 fights before that....then you can't say that Floyd has no chance in beating Joe at a 161/162 catchweight.

Unlike James Toney he still would be in excellent fighting shape even at that weight. Anybody with great boxing skills has a shot at beating Joe...old as no punches throwing Hopkins showed that. Lets be real here.

I don't think Toney-Peter tells us anything about this fight.

I admitted in the other thread that Mayweather has the style to succeed against non-elite MWs. But you need to recognize that May is not Sugar ray Leonard. He's smaller. And his style is too economical even with "big" welterweights like Baldomir and SLH. When Oscar was effective against him he tossed Floyd around the ring like a ragdoll. The kicker in that fight was Oscar's lack of stamina. he couldn't do that for enough rounds.

At 160 Mayweather would literally change to throwing ten punches per round or less. He'd lose rounds to inferior MWs.

At LHW? He just couldn't fight.

Against a great 168-175 fighter like Joe?? He would be murdered. It's not fair. It's like asking Joe to fight Klitschko

Maybe he'll do 'how Floyd will beat Valuev'. He probably believes professional wrestling isn't staged as well

Styles make fights. Ane even though I think that Delahoya would lose to somebody like Calzaghe.......I think Delahoya gave and would again give more problems to Floyd then Joe Calzaghe ever would. Delahoya throws much harder puncher who are pretty fast. That gives Floyd problems.

The pitty patty point scoring punches that Joe did against Manfredo and as he does most of the time would have no real effect on Floyd no matter what the weight advantage is.

This might be the dumbest thread I've ever read. I have no doubt that Floyd could beat some middleweights and some of the crappier slow super middleweights, just by getting points victories. But are you ****ing kidding me? You think he's going to fight a guy that weighs 180 lbs in the ring, that has fast feet, fast hands, reach advantage, solid chin, and the work rate of a welter-weight? Sure, Calzaghe doesn't hit really hard for his weight class, but I'm pretty sure he hits hard enough, especially if he's punching a natural jr. welter. Ask Jeff Lacy's face how much those punches hurt. He also has a solid chin. Calzaghe has been in the ring with some solid punchers, and I don't think he'd need to be worried about Mayweather's power. Mayweather would have to RUN the whole fight, and by default would lose on the score cards for running like a coward. Plus, Mayweather would not have the foot or handspeed at ****ing super middleweight that he has at welter, which is already much slower than when he was at jr. welter and under.

Calzaghe would crush Mayweather. I know Mayweather has knocked out a giant but Wales is full of giants and Calzaghe slays them for fun so he would probably kill Mayweather.

if you were a REAL boxing fan you would know that he could weight 147 and still fight a super middleweight. the only thing the weight classes say is you have to be under that weight but you can be as far under as you want.

                    educate yourself.
