    1. I do since I know what's going on and see the second and third move that could happen.

    2. I drink Coke during events. I don't want to really miss anything. Alcohol makes me sleepy.

    3. Why would Muay Thai fighters, BJJ artists, Judokas, Catch wrestlers, Olympic wrestlers, kickboxers or just all around athletes want to be boxers. If money's the answer, you can pretty much say that arena football players and semi-pro hockey players want to be boxers too.

    4. As I said before, MMA won't go Olympic, but Catch probably will.

    5. A fad that will provide some comfort to martial artists in the long run.

    6. Just doing my job.

Not speaking for Kimbo or anything, but I think his bareknuckle fight with Sean Gannon"dorf" opened his eyes to other technique after getting gassed by a guillotine. Getting beaten by an amature fighter was shameful and he thought he might correct himself somehow by training and climbing the ranks. Elite picked him up along the way.

Just my opinion of course. I still think he needs to do some semi-pro work instead of headlining.

Why the **** would anyone go to a bar to watch a free fight that they could watch at home (unless they had cable) THAT was the reason not many people were watching boxing, people go to these bars just because the fight is PPV.

MMA is doing well but it nowhere near as popular most people think it is.
Here are articles are about the UFC.
            2006 & 2007 PPV Numbers: http://www.mmapayout.com/2008/12/ufc...s-in-2007.html
Link and Syposis of recent Forbes article:
            http://www.mmapayout.com/2008/04/ult...-cover-of.html
            TV Ratings:
            http://www.mmapayout.com/search/label/ratings
The UFC has too many causal fans and that could cause the downfall of the company. The UFC couldn't even draw a good rating as compared to their other cards for the their most stacked card they ever put on free tv. http://www.mmapayout.com/2008/04/ufc-ratings-flash.html

MMA's popularity is down bigtime from what I see. People I know (including myself) used to watch the tv shows and always wanted to know who won the ppv fights. Nobody I know cares anymore. Its still the same 5 or 6 guys fighting all the time. That isnt enough to sustain long term interest.

That doesn't sound right. Both sports are somewhat different but they both require stamina and a big heart. Both sports are have different styles and just because some pursue MMA it doesn't mean they don't stand a chance against a boxer, maybe they could and maybe they can't. Everyone trains and is intesting in their own sport
anderson silva was into boxing. 1-1 he was KO'd by a nobody. an old roy jones jr would play with him.

I disagree with that. I think its just growing and needs more time to progress. I think it is more popular now then it was before. There are more and more organizations now and even as they don't make money, they still have some viewers. UFC is way bigger now then it was before. You must not forget that Japan has a lot to do with MMA as well but you don't hear of it much in North America because they get their own programming but you can also catch them sometimes on PPV
