Roy Jones vs. thast guy from the UFC to settle this. That'd be a good fight for Roy and boxing. I don't belive the guy from the UFC would win one round.

Silva Vs. RJJ? According to Jones Dana White squashed that.

I do give Silva props for challenging Jones in Jones' own sport though.

That post wasn't to you it was for the other poster. On that note, the fights you posted are good especially Gatti-Ward 1 which is by far one of my favourite boxing fights ever but those fights happen once in a while. When do you ever see a great fight or great main event contuniously nowadays in boxing. Kalib Starnes and Nate Quarry wasn't the greatest match-up but the fault was solely places on Starnes because Quarry was trying to give the fans what they payed for but Starnes kept backing up. You can't pick a few bad fights and say this is the UFC. There have been some boring UFC fights, but that is expected. You can't have every fight to be a great one. However boxing has boring undercards compared to the UFC's. If it wasn't for the main events, the undercards wouldn't match to anything nowadays in boxing. In the UFC, the undercards can sometimes be some of the greatest fights of the night. Again, UFC is still growing and so is MMA as a sport. They are doing good now but in they will only do better

It would help to know the guys name so people get a more idea. BTW it's anderson silva and he's one of the greatest P4P champions in MMA right now. That's doesn't mean he's a better boxer then RJJ but he is excellent at what he does including RJJ without a doubt

              2 month period

              Robert Guerrero vs Jason Litzau
              Marquez vs Vasquez 3
              Marquez vs Pacman 2
              Katsidis vs Casamayor
              Pavlik vs Taylor 2
              Margarito vs Cintron - Co-Mainevent
              Dawson vs Johnson -Co-Mainevent

              Reaching are we?

It's easier to have exciting undercards in the UFC because the fights are only 3 X 5 minute rounds. That would be like putting on 5 round fights on PPV undercards, plus there are more ways to finish the fight so the fights don't go the distance as much. Just because a guy gets stopped or submitted that does not equal excitement, I thought the GSP vs Serra was crap. Sure GSP did whatever he wanted but are you going to tell me thats a great fight? People gassing after 1 round in the undercard wasn't exciting to me either.

unfair for silva to box roy. same for roy going mma with him.

how about meet halfway? not boxing , not mma. kickboxing match? it'll level the playing field for anderson if he can kick and roy doesn't have to worry about takedowns and submissions.

i'd pay to see it. kickboxing match would be interesting between the two. roy has superior skills and hands in boxing but anderson can kick to make it interesting. equipment is the same too. kickboxing uses boxing gloves not the mma grappling gloves.

Sorry Mosley, I didn't see that post, I'm glad you're schooling these fools though. I love boxing, watched it before mma, but to downgrade one over the other is ridiculous, and to not see that mma is on its way up when boxing as a whole is fading (other then the odd mega fight) is just plain ****** and obviously biased.

BTW, most of the time I'd prefer a superfight in boxing over a huge mma card, but lately they have been lackluster. UFC 83 was one of the worst UFC's in the last 2 years on a whole as far as talent goes, yet was 100x more exciting than the Hopkins vs Calzaghe fight. And that's coming from a guy who has every Hopkins fight on DVD and ranks him in the top 3 favorite boxers ever.

I said mostly.. thats why the fanbase has exceeded boxing.

You guys could better defend the UFC if any of you actually knew what you were talking about - like fighter names and styles.

Refer to my earlier point about the typical UFC demographic and reference what's been said in here by those who equate UFC to MMA.

I don't know what you mean when you say that. UFC demographics and all that. The UFC is based in America and is largely growing in places like Canada, and overall the UK. That's all there is too it. I know all fighter names and style so what else do you want to know???
