How anyone can rate Morales above Barrera is beyond me! They fought three times close to both their peaks and Barrera won twice and many critics thought he was unlucky to lose the verdict in the first fight!

Most people I talk to believe they should have gone 1-1-1. the first a draw, second to EM, and the third for MAB.

I had it 2-1 MAB.

The thing is though, Morales was absolutely wrecking people before those two fought.

And believe it or not, the buzz back then was that MAB was past his prime even then and Morales would take him easy.

People seem to look at chronological age, and disregard the fact that these guys were pros when they were teens.

Funnily enough I felt the first fight was more dominant for Barrera than the third, the second was the closest for me.

Barrera doesn't seem to be doing too well in the poll stakes! I rate him top. I'd favour the Barrera from Morales 1, Kennedy McKinney or Hamed over Pacquiou. The Barrera that fought Pacman both times was good but a touch faded for me. Even this version was nearly too much for Marquez which surely shows his worth......remember Barrera was pound for pound rated in 1994!! A tremendous achievement for a fighter in the lower weight divisions.

i voted barrera but i can see how morales gets top billing. his resume has a lot of solid names on it. past prime win over a prime manny doesn't hurt. head to head it was close and could easily have been 2-1 in favor of erik. prime losses to junior hurts marco a lot even though how any loss could hurt marco's resume is beyond me. but it helps erik a lot that his ONLY loss in prime was a questionable one versus marco.

How how can you call a Barrera past his prime in 2003 when he was considerably a top 3 P4P and was coming from a victory against Morales, Hamed, Tapia and kelly and Barrera was very good at the ring.. He then face Pac and got himself demolished in the ring.. MAB and Morales looks slow every round 12 during their fights and Pac can still pressure you until the very end..You forgot that after Pac knocks the **** out on Barrera, Barrera beat Peden, Juarez, Fana and Even Marquez IMO. That's Barrera and Morales will never be able to beat Pac prime vs Prime thanks for the cut and the accidental headbut he get a way with a 2 point decision win.. You call a 29 year old Marquez past this prime? What an ASS are you... No one ever close of Knocking Pac out in 122-130 division.. Pac KO them all... No way Morales and Barrera can KO Pac,Maybe 1%.. Barrera was considered to be old and past his best the first time he fought Morales. And thought to be past his beat before he fought Hamed.

Barrera was never the same after Junior Jones. He forced Barrera to be the boxer we knew later on in his career. Morales brought out the Barrera of old.

If Barrera would not have cared about his health he could have beat Pacquiao in there second fight.

Hamed would have probably hurt Pacquiao badly cause Pacquiao lunges forward. Hamed may have lost to Barrera but Barrera respect his power like no other opponet before or after Hamed.

Forgot to mention Daniel Zaragoza would have probably been able to box circles against Pacqaio.

Right now I give the nod to Barrera but if Manny can stay on top of his game for a few more years i'll give him the nod.
