I think the Vitali comeback will only be one fight to allow the bros to be champs at the same time (they have stated that goal many times). Vit will then call out Lennox for interest sake (haha) and retire, leaving the WBC up for grabs.

WTF, why on earth does this fight need to be so far away in the year? That's one of the biggest problems in boxing today and in the hw division in particular; world champions only fighting twice per year...

However, this is not always the case. Kelly Pavlik has already fought once this year is is schedule to return in June and will probably fight one or two times again in 2008. Same with Miquel Cotto...

I just don't understand why the hw picture cannot be the same...

The reason why they don't schedule anything in the summer, is that summer olimpics are this year and I heard that they will have a hard time attracting sponsor, since all of their attention will be on that.

I don't know; I think the novelty of Vitali's comeback bout would pack any German stadium...

If Vitali doesn't get injured, Peter is in for the beating of his life.

if vitali can get to 80% of what he used to be then he should be able to beat peter.

The promoters should have one of the top ranked WBC contenders 'in the wings' waiting to step in, if Vitali gets hurt again...

Are you kidding me? What makes you think that?

Vitali will get beat due to the simple fact he hasnt fought in years and he is going in there with a young, strong man. I'm having a hard time understanding why so many of you guys are picking Vitali. Its not like he just fought last year or something. He has been inactive for a long time. You do know age is going to play a BIG ROLE in this matchup. Vitali is not the same fighter he use to be so why is everyone thinking he will be this beast. If he does make it out of training camp you know he will still be injury -prone and he might get hurt very bad if he gets in the ring with Peter.

Please explain to me how Vitali is going to give him a beating of his life because I dont see that happening at all.

I agree, I think probably Thompson would be a good choice.

I know he hasn't fought in years, but this is a stylistic nightmare for Peter. Vitali is not like Wlad where he is conservative and waits for that big shot. He wears you down with an accumulation(sp?) of punches and then KOs you. Vitali also has a great chin making Peter's chances less of KOing him. Peter would be eating way too many uppercuts and straight rights. I think the only way Peter can win this fight is if Vitali either gets injured during the fight, or the very little chance he has of KOing Vitali.
