Samuel Peter Ordered To Fight Vitali Klitschko

david haye only has 3 of the 4 titles and there doesent seem to be any doubt about his championship status at cruiser
if wlad has 3 of 4 at heavy why would it be any different? especially considering having all 4 would only last a week or two before he was stripped of one of them.Comment

my sentiments too.i don't want this fight to happen.. it would'nt be good for an already weak division.. i hope peter wins, not that i have a problem with vitali, i just don't care to see him fight anymore.. if vitali does win, then u're gonna have the klitschko brothers with titles who will never fight each other.. i hope peter wins, because i want him to fight wlad in a unification to figure out the true heavyweight champ
don jose milking the hvwt circus. and casual boxing fans will go along with it.
jez...another boring klitschko to put up with.
sort of pisses me off when i read posts here from lackys that say they arent into the little big men only the hvwts.those are the types that jose, king and arum think of when they manipulate matchups.they know the bars been lowered and can get away with boring matchups!Comment

Did anyone notice the last sentence of that article. It stated "Peter also confirmed that he’s more than happy to fight both brothers tomorrow.
He might have to wait a bit longer than that. Peter-Klitschko is slated for the Fall."
WTF, why on earth does this fight need to be so far away in the year? That's one of the biggest problems in boxing today and in the hw division in particular; world champions only fighting twice per year...
However, this is not always the case. Kelly Pavlik has already fought once this year is is schedule to return in June and will probably fight one or two times again in 2008. Same with Miquel Cotto...
I just don't understand why the hw picture cannot be the same...Comment

Why in the the Fall?
The reason they have to wait is because Vitali wont be ready to fight until the fall. Another thing I want to make public is the real reason why Vitali retired. It was reported that he had suffered an injury in preparing for the fight against Rahman. The injury was actually a punch to the body by up and coming Heavyweight Travis Walker while sparring. Travis hit Vitali in the body knocking Vitali to the canvas so hard he twisted his knee in the process. Of course what happens in the gym stays in the gym. "Injury" ha ha what a joke.. the only thing that was injured was his pride and ribs.Comment

Even if Vitali comes in healthy, I do not think he has enough to go 12 rounds. Oleg was out for 1 1/2 years and he really looked horrible. Vitali is bigger and carries more weight which will put more of a strain on his back. You know Peter will throw punches and keep Vitali busy. I just do not see him beating a younger peter.
Now, since the fight will most likely be scheduled, and Vitali will more than likely have to pull out, who will take his place and fight peter?Comment

I read a report here yesterday with Vitali stating "it would take him 10 weeks to get into shape." So why would it have to be 6 months from now in the Fall? It's ****in ridiculous...The reason they have to wait is because Vitali wont be ready to fight until the fall. Another thing I want to make public is the real reason why Vitali retired. You have some points, however. If it were to be up to him, he would have made the fight in the "1 year stature of limitation", that you feel should be used by the WBC. Vitali cannot help that Oleg delayed things and he also cannot help the fact that fighters do get injured during training. He does seem to be injured more that the average fighter, but some fighters just go ahead and fight and get tore a new one because of it. Besides, he has a PHD in sports science and knows more about what the human body can handle than you or I. I hope you take my points and understand that I respect your opinion, I just dont agree for the most part.I didn't say that I blamed him for wanting a title shot, or a big paycheck. The fact that he has the right to do so is ridiculous. He hasn't fought for over three years, and he deserves a shot? These disgraceful sanctioning bodies strip real champions of their belts when they pass on fighting a joke of a mandatory to take a real fight, but in Vitali's case, "he never lost the belt, so he can have a title shot any time he wants". Are you serious? What if had been 10 or 15 years. If he was forty something, and weighed 300 pounds, you think he still has the right to a shot? I never said I blamed him for wanting a shot, but I think it's laughable that as "Champion Emeritus", which is sillier than Interim Champ, Regular Champ, Super Champ, or any of the other god awful titles that the WBC has created, there wasn't a statute of limitations placed upon this so-called "right". And yes, Vitali in his prime would've destroyed Ibragimov, IF he made it to the fight. But the harsh truth of the situation is that he hasn't made it through a camp, and he hasn't stepped in the ring. What has Vitali Klitschko done for the sport in the last 3 years? Losing an election doesn't count, either.Comment
